@ Jal: I think you misunderstood Io, as he possibly did you too, but I agree with the rest of what you said. I also just want to say that I for one am not posting pictures of myself in order to be told that I'm hot. I don't need an ego boost on the internet. I just think it's fun to share pictures. ...

But do I understand correctly that you believe this thread should be gay-only, and straight guys 'n' galls should be gone? Huh? Obviously, I don't set the rules, and I can't speak for Io, but of course straight people are welcome here. That's such a big "duh!". People who are bothered by the presen...

Suomi is outo. (Or is that "outoa"? I don't even know anymore.) Why is it "Musiikki on kaunista" instead of "kaunis"? Mä en tiedä. Suomi on vain niin. As was explained before, I think it has to do with whether the subject, musiikki refers to a specific or a general concept. I'm just as confused as ...

Well, I may have gotten that one phrase wrong, but I didn't use Google Translate for it. I was just not paying attention to the words I was using. I just thought it was funny that you said 'That's so wrong' and then proceeded to "correct" it to a phrase that would be, I assume, much harder for a Fi...

Do you freckle? You don't look like you get freckly. I have pale skin too, so I avoid attempting to tan because I get freckles and they never seem to go away. Yeah, I freckle. Oh I see, then "kumpi on väärin?" would have been better. It's difficult to say what exactly the difference is, but IMO väärin is used when there's something wrong with a thing, while väärä is used when you have picked the wrong option. Ok, that makes sense to me. They're different meanings ...

Mikä on väärä? This means "which one is wrong?" Väärä is an adjective, while väärin is an adverb. Well, I actually meant something like that because I didn't know if he was referring the "Minä haluan tuota paitaa" or "Sano moi! Opin suomen kieltä ja haluan puhua." That was completely by mistake tho...

Re: In search of isolating conlangs
I think Imralu means that he generally likes both (a) synthetic languages and (b) head-initial languages. Unfortunately, languages which are both synthetic and head-initial tend to have mostly prefixing morphology, which he doesn't like. Cha-ching! That's it exactly. The solution here is to cheat a...

Re: In search of isolating conlangs
I prefer the look and feel of synthetic languages but because I prefer a certain morpheme order (modifiers following their heads) and have a dislike of prefixes, I usually end up with isolating languages. My latest lang, Xuáli, is the only lang I have made recently which has any bound morphemes at a...
