The next Elder Scrolls better be Elsweyr. Or at least Hammerfell. Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall and its expansion pack Redguard take place wholly or partially in Hammerfell. See here , here and here . _________________ Bought Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Reverie the other day. It's fun, but it has the...

Re: What are you playing?

Finally beat Super Mario 2. :) Congrats. Bet it took you a while to get past all of those spiny ball things, tho. The part where you need to jump up all of those platforms. What was your contributor count? ..... Anybody here play the Halo games? I completed the first game and then started Halo 2 a ...

Changes made to the Super Mario Advance 2 version of Super Mario World : List of Changes If the player manages to collect all five Yoshi Coins in every single level, all the Yoshi Coins will change into Peach Coins (after watching a cutscene where this happens). The player can also check out in whic...

Re: What are you playing?

I was just there, too, not so long ago... Wish I could provide some personal advice but I don't have a save state near that part. I can give you this, though: World 6-2 Ride the Albatoss going right until reaching a platform that contains a magic potion , which will provide one coin and one mushroom...

FRICKIN' FINALLY http://i551.photobucket.com/albums/ii453/carlpicz/SMB2screenshot1.jpg The levels got noticeably more difficult after 5-3 so I wasn't able to beat Wart as soon as I thought. But I did, and - quite frankly - he wasn't as difficult as he could have been. I definately wasn't as intimida...

Re: What are you playing?

Oh, right. I think I remember world 7 now. I've been there before, I just didn't remember it because it was such a long time ago. I'm still on world 3 with SMB3 because I am currently finishing SMB2 ( American version ). Been playing them all in chronological order :P The funny thing is that my fami...

Do you earn extra points with or without using the flute? I have never actually finished SMB3 before so I don't know. But yeah, if there are some levels that drive you crazy, using warps is a definate plus. PS: Ah, right. Thanks for correcting me on level 4. Level 3 is the boat world, *level 4* is g...

Re: What are you playing?

I am currently trying to beat Super Mario Bros. , Super Mario Bros. 2 ( in Japan - The Lost Levels in North America ), Super Mario Bros. 2 ( in North America - the derivative of Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic in Japan ), and Super Mario Bros. 3 , all in a single go. For SMB3, are you playing it with or...

Also http://www.realmofthemadgod.com/ is strangely addictive. Thanks for this. I wish I could play it further than the intro, though. Chicken god FTW! @ cbrxkhan: I read your description of Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and I agree. Vvardenfell is one sweet conworld. On the note of good game conworl...

@ El Torco: Have you given any thought to aerobic respiration for your heterotrophs? Helium is an inert gas so all you are left with is hydrogen...unless your fauna have access to oxygen. But then, where does the oxygen come from? Earth's oxygen came from carbon dioxide and water so you are going t...

And what about other forms of object manipulation, like relocation? ...OK, that is technically the same thing as carrying it away. Point is, if there is anything in this world other than the creatures themselves, then a creature that can conceive of the idea of manipulating those things can and may...

Re: Life on a gas giant, the conworld

Eosapien was a predator of land-based animals though: those hands were for lifting things from the ground. I'd expect things like the rugose floater, ebony blisterwing, and maybe even skewer, but I'm not sure what use gripping appendages would be in a purely aerial environment, where there's no rea...

Wait, Canadian raising happens in AmE in environments other than before voiceless plosives and a few /4/ from /d/? Yes, it does. For starters, before coda /r/ and before /ər/, and in many specific words like tiger , spider , cider , and idol . It is the last part that makes it clearly phonemic and ...

Ollock, I apologise for making such a big deal out of this whole thing. My response was primarily aimed at Rodlox but - like Drydic Guy ( though significantly more so ) - I overreacted. I do want this thing to continue. I just think you made a mistake by not asking Risla before discussing her conlan...

Wouldn't you be a bit upset if someone misinterpreted your work and then gave a possibly erroneous opinion of it? I'd be flattered that someone thought it complete enough to be discussed, and it would give me pointers on what to address next. (be it clarifying what was misinterpreted, and the sugge...

Re: Conlangery Podcast (Latest Ep: #38: Derivational Morphol

I'm confused - then why are you upset, if you can't listen to them discuss it anyway? As far as people who are deciding to change their behavior, that is fine. You have the right to control when and in what form your work gets out into the public. I do hope that this incident will not create a chil...

Re: Anyone learning rare/endangered languages?

( For some reason this sounds like a stupid question to ask ). What, just because we have a native speaker here? No, because - even as a rare language - it is still quite commonly known amongst linguists and is therefore going to have a lot of people learning it as an L2. I would ask the same thing...
