Re: The Next Relay 2015
Can anybody do climate maps here? It's confusing me. I am what is known as a omni-nerd so I would be happy to give it a go. That would also make me able to participate without having to do any serious conlanging as i am still a newbie in that field. Edit: If other non-conlanging stuff needs to be t...

Change the numbers so that hitting a number key gives you the base number x, but shift+the number gives you 10^x?

Humans are just too small and too active to have any sort of effective photosynthesis. (unless there's some sort of magic light or something that is 100 or so times brighter but only interacts with the chloroplasts and not much else to prevent overheating of the planet) Photosynthetic cows: http://w...

I had a dream where I was watching traffic near an intersection, and a truck was having trouble turning to get into an alley and it caused a small backup, then another truck came around the corner and somehow dropped its trailer in the intersection, where another truck suddenly plowed into it at hig...

Another dream I had I was in some sort of school-like place, I don't remember much but there was a nurse's office where a Hina was stationed, though she didn't seem to be in there when I looked, though there were a couple of other people just standing around in there. At another point we were in a ...

I had a dream where I was running though some sort of crazy building with stairs and hallways going all over the place and I was being chased by someone, and I was dropping what were apparently fluorine bombs behind me, but they never seemed to actually do anything, but I did end up losing whoever w...

From what I said in a previous post, the fragments likely broke off of the comet a while ago, so they could get spread out pretty evenly... though polar impacts would be less likely simply due to them being glancing blows there.

I'm not sure if this is significant enough to actually have a round based on it, but has anyone else thought of a calendar/timekeeping system for any of the cultures?

I was originally Goza Lesha, then Ebba Leaci, then Lyhoko Leaci. I'm Lyhoko Leaci most everywhere else, other than DA where I'm just Lyhoko, some collab conworld wikis where I'm just Leaci, and Minecraft, where I'm Leech10 (Which I was originally in some other sites, as well)

Now, let's try Pazmat's ancestor, Proto-Pasuu: 4. Voicing distinction on fricatives but only labial and/or coronal fricatives ( There AREN'T any other fricatives besides two coronals) 6. One fewer phonemic POA for nasals than for stops and affricates combined ( There are no modal nasals at all...wh...

It's relatively simple to make the map, at least to the point that I have reached, as all I do is point the camera in a specific direction and take pictures.

Re: CCC planet and system discussion
If I move it too far away, then there won't be as many stars nearby due to the natural star charts being (roughly) centered around Earth. I also have 800,000 stars added to the Small Magellanic Cloud, I could move the CCC system there, though then the Milky Way would feature predominantly in the sky...

Copy the stuff in the code box in my previous post into a .stc file and put it somewhere in the extras folder. Also note: I have downloaded a pack that includes a lot more stars that can be found here: http://www.celestiamotherlode.net/creators/p_hartmann/starsdb2.1C_1.4.0.zip It includes around 2 m...

I made a new star, and stuck it 74 light years away from Earth.
Code: Select all
300600 "CCC star" {
RA 245.3 # in fractional degrees, 0-360
Dec 25.4 # in fractional degrees, -90 to + 90
Distance 74
SpectralType "G2V"
AbsMag 4.65

CCCP, not СССР.
As of now, I haven't finished putting the data into Celestia yet, I only have the first 7 planets (and no moons for the outer ones).

Re: CCC planet and system discussion
I made a sort of star map by taking pictures of the sky from the CCCP in Celestia, though right now I'm not entirely sure how to post them. There's 40 pictures in total, each being a set of one with just the stars (and planets) and the other with an overlay of a grid. The brightest star in the sky i...

Re: CCC planet and system discussion
About 2.9 arc minutes at max, assuming the moon has an orbital radius of around 1,200,000km. (slightly farther than Ganymede is from Jupiter)
The moon would have a magnitude of about 5, while the planet has a magnitude of 0.6.

Re: CCC planet and system discussion
I've been thinking about the tipped over super Jupiter planet, would it be okay if I gave it a gas dwarf moon (roughly Earth-mass) that originated in a collision between two gas giants that caused the super Jupiter to tip over to begin with? Such a moon would be quite dim, but slightly brighter than...

...how do you go about necroing a collab, though ? You find a Red Marker and let it animate nearby dead threads. Of course, if the situation gets too hairy then you should keep a CEC engineer on retainer to deal with the issue. Or you could infuse it with plenty of daidao, but if its soul is missin...
