Les échelles les amène dans la salle souterraine. En anglais: The ladders lead us down into the underground room. I don't know why, but this seems... melodic to me. /lez_???l lez_?mIn d?n l? sæl sut?RIn/ /lez_3/(sh)3/l lez-amIn don la sæl sut3/RIn/ That sounds like one of those sentences form Ducha...

Alveolar trills come pretty easily to me, but while we're on the topic, does someone want to explain how to master the uvular trill? I usually come out with the voiced fricative instead; if I manage the trill it's by accident.

It's great. Particulalry, I'm amused by the biographies. I liked reading about the particulars of how Ružeon's reconstruction. The Řon Lebië Kestië sounds like some kind of Dewey Decimal Language.

It's a derivative of the script for Old Skourene, but we don't know much about it. The OS page says it's simplified somewhat. I think it says somewhere that the syllable markers have turned into diacritic symbols.

As an aside: I still don't really know how to pronounce "Xurno"... I want to pronounce the X as /S/ but I'm not sure that's right (I do know "Axunashin" = "Aks(h)unashin") The x in Xurno/Xurnásh is a /z/. I'm also eager to see exactly how it's developed from Axunashin...I think Mark said somewhere ...

I should also add how cleverly written it is that you assume they're both men until the farmer says “I’m very so grateful to you women.” And it just hits you like a ton of bricks.

The Rogues

<3 I enjoyed this a lot. It was interesting to finally have the dark and unexplored reaches of Arcél opened up to us, a bit. I'm still trying to make sense of all that we've learned about the culture. So the gender roles are (more or less?) reversed in this Northern area, but not the South. Kâ's te...

I would tend to say go ahead...I imagine it's the sort of thing that never really feels done. You could release new material every so often.

Unless something feels REALLY wrong with it. And never mind the Eynleyni! :) I'm happy with whatever you offer.

Eynleyni

For some reason I find myself eager to find out more about the Eynleyni peoples. They're kind of a dark undeveloped spot on the map, but what little we hear always sounds cool, and tantalizing. The Biology page says that "the Dhekhnami and Monkhayu have an ashen cast." It's sort of hard to visualize...

On what page of Virtual Verduria are these aspects of Kebrini culture mentioned? (I looked, but couldn't find them.) The Kebreni language page; I'm basing most of this on one of the sample texts. The pillows thing was somewhere in the lexicon. I do hope the Almeopedia will have some more info on th...

I would go see Kebri. I like their focus on wine- and cheese-making. And all the olives. And the sitting on pillows. I imagine I'd have the best dining experience. Oh, and I like their language.

Demoshi should be more interesting and I do intend to get to it. All I can say for now is that I'm going to get away from the "nasty sounds for nasty people" meme. If anything I'd like it to sound nice. This may well mean that some established words change or get a new history, though! (E.g. it may...

Not entirely...I think I say it the British way.

I'm more interested in the Western languages (which are polysynthetic) and even Uytainese (which looks isolating for now). Western, meaning the languages in the Rau Jungle? Or Tellinor? Or elsewhere? From what tiny bit is visible of the Tellinor languages, I like them a lot. They have a sort of Asi...
