ph th kh are pronounced aspirated, meaning there is a puff of air upon their release. English p t k are slightly aspirated. Yeah, what they said. But the 2 wasn't supposed to be there in the first one, I just missed the shift key, it should've been @. I suppose the final [?] could drop out and I bet it would still be comprehensible if [tAg@mbaU] went to [tA(@)mbaU], although I probably wouldn't say that unless I was real...

How legal is it to take sound changes out of a book? I have access to a few Mayan sound changes. It's not much, but it's interesting. Also, what about taking sound changes off of Wikipedia? There are a few decent articles on the history of particular languages, and it wouldn't really take that long ...

It is certainly awesome. The Kebreni grammar feels like such a steal. I did notice a couple of mistakes myself, though: P. 69- A lot of the text seems to be carried over from the original web version. In the gender section, the example of how it can help free word order in Swahili is taken out, yet ...

So... Ural-Altaic's not a crazy idea, Indo-Uralic's not either... I think it's time to start reconstructing Proto-World. Ha, kidding. More seriously, I'll make a little chart of some common words in a bit. I'll probably do a bit of this for the Ural-Altaic theory too, not because I think I'm a lingu...

Not to mention "asstastic". Is this how do you define yourself? Can we just clear one thing up here and now: Skomaker'n doesn't speak like he claims to. The majority of his "oddities" are affectations. That is all. HAND. Don't be such a square, my English dialect has biconsonantal roots and only 10 consonants. Yes, it was a bad joke. I'll come across another we...

I wasn't saying they are extremely likely to, I was just saying [i~] > [e~] is a plausible change. I think I could come up with an example of a language with a roughly /a e i o u/ oral vowel system with roughly /e~ o~ a~/.

Onondaga doesn't have one really strange feature, but it has a bunch of odd features combined that make it weird imo: -no labials except /w/ -no voicing contrast on any phonemes, but the only affricate is /dZ/ -/i e { a o/ vowel system, with /e~ u~/. I'd definitely expect /o~/ instead of /u~/ becau...
