Re: Spelling in your conlang

The Zelsian Mik script is fairly fossilised. If you know the rules, you can probably predict the sound of a word with fair accuracy, because while taken symbol-for-symbol the script would barely correspond to the sound of the modern Zelsian pronunciation, a mildly complex set of rules does account f...

Re: Composing Music

I've always been pretty good at playing by ear, but I only just started to write stuff. Mostly I'm teaching myself through writing and experimenting, I've not had any formal training yet. I used to play some wind instruments, but I've been trying to learn how to play the piano. Though for the actual...

Re: Con-Weapons

More important than it's being magazine fed, how does the feeding mechanism (or action) work? Is is recoil, blow-back, or gas operated, and which flavor of those? Also, what's the magazine capacity and what sort of magazines does it use? (I'm assuming you mean a detachable box magazine. ;)) As I sa...

Re: Con-Weapons

Zereskaoate, rather than jump right into a critique, allow me to ask a question first if you would, as it will determine the nature of said critique. :) Are you aiming more at a cinematic/anime low level of realism where looking/sounding "cool" is more important that being realistic, or at somethin...

Re: Con-Weapons

Melvillians go as far as genetic engineering. Yes, some soldiers are actually happy to give birth to "gifted" children. (Not that they all go to the military. As a result, Melvillians don't believe in any sport event as a display of human limits.) Cool, so then I'm guessing from that that the milit...

Re: Con-Weapons

Also, regarding the boxy and cool short SMG-like thing *goes to check the post* yeah, the KHZ960.1, it's got a real short barrel, so it only makes sense it's poor at long ranges. Still, forest or no forest, Zelse weaponeers are probably gonna make some longer-range stuff, like rifles or carabines. ...

Re: Con-Weapons

I was going for lot's of straight lines, kind of a theme I have in other Zelsen stuff, though ignore the models' overall ugliness as they were just thrown together pretty quickly.

Con-Weapons

What sort of interesting weaponry have your con-people created? Some say war is inevitable, so unless your conworld is a utopia, they must have something to fight with :-) My con-people are human, and like us have waged war, and continue to do so. The world of Bakatsu has a particularly dark and bl...

Aszev's flag is likely the flag of some real world country or state. It wouldnt necessarily have to be specially made for him. Extremadura , a province of Spain. The flag is upside down, but well... There is to my knowledge no real world flag that is black-white-green with 1:2 proportions like mine...

This is required reading for all those creating their own flags. Seriously, guys: some of these are just plain hideous. Yet, it seems to be a very naturalistic thing to have a "bad" flag. The only thing I wonder about is whether these concountries have invented screen printing for all the intricate...

lol, my pandemic had zero symptoms, but all the regions closed their airports/boat ports/borders. How did they even detect it that fast?

Two of our newspapers also carried the story to lend it extra weight -a first in April 1st spoofery as far as I'm aware. Actually, back in Thomas Edison's day (you know, the inventor), a local newspaper near his hometown printed an April Fool's joke story that he had successfully built a machine th...
