Re: Mayan Glyph Question

I've heard you won't actually be able to get a tattoo done over a scar anyway. Its a cluster of three quarter sized scars under my armpit, a 1 1/2in scar from the procedure under my shoulder blade and some smaller marks from the scope etc -- not planning on having it huge but there is space between...

Would you not agree, though, that runes and the iron cross occur rather iconically among neo-Nazis though? They occur pervasively among the far right (especially the Germanic sections of it) and almost never among non-fascistic political currents. I would say that Motörhead is using fascistic image...

Re: Mayan Glyph Question

Pneumothorax, hemo-pneumothorax, hypoperfusion, tension pneumo, pleural cavity, pleurodesis. These are not straightforward or condensed words. Pneumothorax- when air gets into the plural cavity (the space between your lung wall/chest wall), and the resulting pressure compresses your lung and makes ...

Re: Mayan Glyph Question

Errm, there really isn't too much jargon yes of course there is -- do you live in a medical drama or some other situation where "hypoperfusion" is a daily commonplace [a cryogenics lab? idk]? or is this a more general thing and you also, whenever you relate to somebody that you have had problems wi...

Is this elephant living in the jungles of Africa or marching through Washington and driving out protestors? I cannot think of any contexts where iron crosses and neo-Pagan runic i...

Re: Mayan Glyph Question

Errm, there really isn't too much jargon. But tl;dr lung randomly decided to crap out & collapse, and another collapse, attempt to glue it back to the chest wall failed, and another collapse

I doubt it would reoccur, but seeing how it happened by random chance in the first place who knows

Mayan Glyph Question

I'm thinking of getting a tattoo soon. Recently I had a spontaneous pneumothorax that led into a hemo-pneumothorax (they drained out ~1700cc T.T) and by the time I got to the ER I could hardly see straight from hypoperfusion and it was getting to the point of a tension pneumo where there was so much...

Re: Post your conlang's inspiration

Never heard of a language lacking low vowels. I have heard that Arabic lacks /a/ as an independent phoneme, but even it has the low vowel /æ/ to fill that role.. iirc arapaho lacks any low vowel edit-- Also pataari: Numic/Arapaho mash, navajo words peppered in chuj: bits and pieces of various turki...
