Re: How many words does your conlang have?

Xhaimeran has about 16000+ words. I'm currently in the process of transferring my card-file system to a digital database, which will give me a more exact count.

Re: A Japanese based conlang

Yeah. Anyway I think the point of the thread is kind of dubious anyway...I don't quite understand why someone would want to make a conlang based on a language they don't know anything about. But maybe Cunningham will learn a little from my post. The hobby of conlanging in itself is as dubious as du...

A sneak peek at parts of my map over Xhaimera (the southwest corner, behind the skull artwork Temyn). Then you couldn't leave this out. I'm also more and more convinced of the sectary thing. A docile listener will improve his language. I said the same thing in Japan in 2005 and I had proven I was right. Those who listened to our theory is improving their skill. On the other hand, trolls who didn't ...

Re: The coping thread

I think for most people using alcohol to cope is a form of escapism, to forget about stuff for a while and do something fun instead. Or just plain to forget and knock themselves out. I feel like it's softening the impact by numbing the senses. Otherwise one would go crazy from all the noise, visual...

Re: The coping thread

I don't go too well with people. Especially not hordes of them. One, two or at least a group of people I know and/or like work fine, but a day in a mall....go figure. When I was younger I used alcohol, sex & reckless driving as "vents". I could also get (unnecessarily) violent. Nowadays I try to sol...

Not everyone will be as lucky as you. Even today, when self-publishing and self-promotion are easily accessible, it can be hard to make good money off creative pursuits. Re: On succinctness

The best strategy to achieve a higher level of succintness is to speak and write your conlang as much as possible. Not only does it weed out unnecessary "features" and constructions but also helps you to develop a spoken language (as opposite to formal language). A language made up on a piece of pap...

Finns have analog synthesizers too, you know. They're called accordions. A 12 cl jalovina with a burp marks line break.

People who moan about 'political correctness' are moaning that they're not allowed to insult people as they please. It annoys me. New days - new expressions turning taboo. Expressions that were very much ok yesterday, but today someone all of a sudden decided that another/same someone is offended. ...
