Re: Tetravalent Verbs
I know avalency occurs in the English language in sentences like "It's raining", because the "it" isn't a subject. I believe it's an expletive, but I'm not sure. And I thought the Greek ones go with valency, because that's what I've been reading.

Tetravalent Verbs
Hey, can anyone list what verbs are tetravalent? I'm looking for something related to a conlang I'm doing, but it seems more fitting to put this in L&L because of the nature of the question. Right now, I have bet and sell, but I'm having trouble finding more.

Re: Grammar Changes in Languages
Can German even be SOV? From what I learned, the Subject can't be separated from the verb, so we get:
SVO
VSO (If it's starts with a prepositional phrase)
OVS
SVO
VSO (If it's starts with a prepositional phrase)
OVS

Dresden Dialect
I know that there are several Deutsch speakers here who may be able to help me. I've been searching for information on the Dresden Dialect specifically for my german class. We were all supposed to pick a city to say where we are from (So we all aren't saying the same two or three cities), and I chos...

That continent is roughly analogious to America (original, aren't we?), so go for Amazon. It's moot, though, they both have rivers running through them IRL. Rivers are all over the place. He changed from that Continent to Keskus. wtf are you talking about? he just put his mark there on the map. kes...

If you keep your people at a primitive level. If you want to be able to advance them, pick somewhere else.

I've been gone from here this past week due to wrestling, but it ends in like a week or two, so I should be able to keep up with the timeskip.

Re: Yucopia Project (Massive, Collaborative, and Recruiting
No, not at all. It's a simple mill-like device. One thing though, it would take a lot of energy to displace enough water at a fast enough rate to move. So I'd put something there about crews being similar to roman galley slaves. You'd need a lot of men.

Re: Yucopia Project (Massive, Collaborative, and Recruiting
By coup, I meant kind of a forcible military takeover located at central leadership, rather than a popular revolution.

Re: Yucopia Project (Massive, Collaborative, and Recruiting
Not so much. I'd imagine they'd launch a coup against the central leadership rather than fighting them all, and then use resources and new slaves to establish the new colony/military outpost to the east.

Re: Yucopia Project (Massive, Collaborative, and Recruiting
So, where shall we begin? Let's say Vawz SavaΓche moved to conquer Tabet because they didn't want to risk waging a two front war against SavaΓ Borodche for interrupting trade routes. Then after that, they establish a colony directly east and as far east as possible from Tabet. How would that play ou...

Pretty much. You make an agreement with a person to create a great person for them as they create a great person for you. I always thought it was like a one-way deal... I really could make another one, though, since Djamele got such a good reception... how about a genocidal warlord for you, treskro...

Re: Yucopia Project (Massive, Collaborative, and Recruiting
Early Life Bavall [ba'vaɬ], was born in the City-State of Bawám some time during the ancient era. Raised as the illegitimate child of a Chalmean-Sbakaz mother and a full-blooded Tll-Ikish father, he would work as a dock hand to help support his Mother. Feeling as if he had no racial identity and be...

It seems odd how advanced everyone is getting, considering that I though that this was supposed to be prehistory now... unless these tropical regions are the equivalent of Ancient Egypt and the fertile crescent regions of Earth, where civilization started. Hmm.. I wonder what sort of stuff could po...

Re: Stress in Russian
I know that Russian is very particular with where stress is placed, because stress can change the meaning of a word. Like rebel and rebel(the noun and verb).
