Re: Uskra
Oops. I meant to post a second update a while ago. But it's here now. Hopefully, with some more interesting tidbits. Reflexives The most obvious use of the reflexive verb conjugations is to express statements where the agent is also the patient. Atikum ta'i. a-tik-um ta'i 3A.3P-give-PST hit "He hit ...

Re: Uskra
Indeed. Naturalism isn't the primary goal for this lang, but fun is. I don't get much fun from that sort of detail, so I skipped it.

Re: Uskra
I love the inversion particles! Might I ask what the inspiration was? Was it from the real world planet earth land, or off of a whim? I remember hearing about such a thing occurring in a natlang. But I never bother investigating it, so I can't tell you if it really does or what language it would be...

Uskra
Uskra is my most recent conlang. I suggest reading up about it on the website but here is a forum rendering of the language. (But the website is prettier! And has more info on the conpeople.) Any comments, questions or corrections are appreciated. : D Phonology I originally created Uskra as a sketch...

Re: Conlangery Podcast (Latest Ep: #30: Numerals)
when Bianca was talking about half five, it's 4:30 in basically all other Germanic languages, in which it means something like "halfway to 5", but 5:30 in BrE, where it's explicitly a shortening of "half past five". I'm also somewhat interested in how Americans say times other than that, because wh...

Re: Conlangery Podcast (Latest Ep: #27: Irregularity)
Yeah. It's been part of our behind-the-scenes discussions for a while. We waited until Bianca was not available because she is incredibly hostile toward Esperanto :P One more such stunt and you'll find yourself in line with the Things Bianca Hates Vigorously :P This should be an episode. It would b...

Re: Conlangery Podcast (Latest Ep: #23: Alien Languages)
Tell Bianca to shut off her electric blanket, even if she'll dislike it? We didn't figure out the problem until after we finished recording. The blanket doesn't actually make any sound (that a human can hear) so I wasn't aware it was an issue at the time. Anyway it shouldn't be an issue in the futu...

I will look forward to seeing your future work, then. However, I'd still like to see Inyauk once in a while; even though you seem to prefer the CBB (which I do not visit). I do think it's an one-of-a-kind language... Thanks. That is quite the compliment. Anything major I post on both forums. Bitch!...

Re: Inyauk
I guess I should post this here as well. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/29128447/Idinim.png I have discontinued work on Inyauk. It was my first conlang and I'm quite proud of it. However, I feel as if I have taken the language as far as I can. I learned a lot while making Inyauk but it's time to move on to...

Re: Conlangery Podcast (Latest Ep: #20: Ideophones)
The problem with prosody is that we have no good way of discussing it. As far as I know there's no good technical terminology to describe different kinds of prosody. I don't even think I've read a scientific paper on prosody. It tends to get glossed over even though it is a very salient feature of a...

The tearing-paper noise might have been me rubbing my hands. They get cold and it's something I do a lot.
Although you guys sound be glad I didn't record this past episode or then you'd have a lot of noises to complain about.
(I am/was sick and would have been coughing every other word.)
