Re: SIWA update

You're right, I was an asshole. I apologize for that. I'm not sure what to say other than the bump comment was meant to come across as self-deprecating.

Re: SIWA update

Of course not. I just brought a snappy answer to a snappy comment :) I am ever so thankful for any comment or criticism on the language itself. I tried to bump the thread with a touch of humor, which may not have come across to everyone. But zompist and I have always had some kind....lesser compatib...

Re: SIWA update

so is there any influence from uralic or native american languages? how does the uralic connection work geographically? It's all fairly well explained in the very first chapter. Basically, the proto-language was in some contact with the earliest form of proto-Uralic (preproto-?) west of the Urals, ...

Book on Siwa finally available in print

Hey everyone! I am finally putting my book on Siwa for sale on Lulu.com. It retails at about 16$, which is the cheapest I could make it. I won't make any money off it, so only buy it if you really want it for yourself! You can see the book here. Let me know if you guy one, I'd love to see it when yo...

Re: Siwa: A Descriptive Grammar

Well I'm about to embark on a 7 day proofread-oton (night shifts at a hotel...). Then I want to keep adding lessons, continue the second chapter and add more words to the lexicon. So yeah, I think maybe after christmas 2015? Hopefully! It's an ongoing project and will probably always be so there is ...

Re: Siwa: A Descriptive Grammar

:)

@lenpw_III

The English is in Helvetica light and the rest is in Helvetica.

And thank you for your kind words :) I'm finally done with school for summer so I'll be able to spend some time working on this more, finishing the third draft, which hopefully will be the last one!

Re: Siwa: A Descriptive Grammar

I am so excited! I just went and got the first bound (second) draft of the Siwa Grammar! It looks mighty nice. Just thought I'd share! I'm busy with school now, so I've not been working much on it, but if my last christmas holiday is any clue, as soon as school is over, I should be going back to spe...

Re: Siwa: A Descriptive Grammar

Like I said, the phonology has not been proofread yet (doing it now) because it's just boring. Everything else has been proofread, but by myself, so there's bound to be plenty of mistakes left. If you notice anything specific, do let me know. EDIT: Phonology updated! Pfew, only took a couple of hour...

Siwa: A Descriptive Grammar

Hey! I've been working on the single biggest update on my Siwa grammar in years and it's nearly over, so I thought I'd share. This is all I have on the language. It's a 517 page grammar, including lexicon, texts in Siwa and English, a grammar and a provisory map. The whole book has been proofread, c...

Re: Siųa

I've finally gotten to writing a little bit about syntax. I'm completely out of my element when it comes to describing syntax, so I'm keeping it short. It's section §15 on page 421 HERE.

I'm totally unsure whether I've forgotten a lot of things, so do let me know !
