Re: Composing Music
I've been busy for the past few months writing what I think (but what probably isn't...) the great American thrash/prog crossover epic. However, I've been wanting to put stuff out while I'm writing this, so I've been doing a few covers, one of which is actually nearing completion. (System of a Down...

Re: What are you reading, watching and listening to?
Reading: Some story online, as well as re-reading the Lord of the Rings trilogy for the (I think) 10th time now? I've been trying to go through them at least once every year, for the past, oh, 7 years or so?

Ok, so, I've got a friend. He's probably my best friend, but now I'm crushing on him. Badly. Anybody got any advice? Should I just move on and be friends? Or should I tell him?

Re: LCK Two
I can't wait for this to be released. I love the original LCK, but there are many questions I have (which mostly come from my lack of knowledge of English grammar, in linguistic terms anyway, despite it being my L1, and my problems translating my own stuff), such as, language families, writing syste...

Re: Akana Conlang Relay (Standing Under the Mistletoe.)
I have yet to check, but if I'm still on the team list, then pull me out. I lost interest back in December, although my conlanging interests are starting to be piqued again. But, I probably had nothing worthwhile to contribute; I've got a habit of starting things and losing interest quickly, before ...

Re: Akana Conlang Relay (Standing Under the Mistletoe.)
I'm thinking about dropping out, mainly due to my own reasons; I've just not been as interested in conlanging (which happens every month or two) as I was when I started the project. Hell, I still have yet to work out sound changes from the proto-lang. I'll think about it tonight, maybe I'll get stuf...

Where did this go? It's like it just died all of a sudden. Which is a shame, since this sounded, and looked, really kickass! Is Arunaza even here anymore?

Re: Post your conlang's phonology
Is that just because this is an extremely unnaturalistic phonology? I know its unrealistic, I made this just for kicks. Not meaning for it to be used anywhere. Haven't you ever done anything like this just to see how far you can go with unreality?cromulant wrote:Sorry, no.SlayerXX33398 wrote:There's also one consonant:

Re: Post your conlang's phonology
I just had the inspiration to start on a conlang with a tonal system and 10 vowels, that can be adjusted to 40, as each vowel can be lengthened, and there are two tones. There's also one consonant: /?/ /ʔ/ /i˦ y˦ e˦ ø˦ ɛ˦ a˦ ɯ˦ u˦ o˦ ɔ˦ iː˦ yː˦ eː˦ øː˦ ɛː˦ aː˦ ɯː˦ uː˦ oː˦ ɔː˦ i˨ y˨ e˨ ø˨ ɛ˨ a˨ ɯ˨ u˨...

How did you do it?
Mark, I would LOVE to know how you came up with Verdurian and the other Eastern languages before deriving Proto-Eastern, since you said you worked backwards. Yet to me it seems impossible to create a multitude of languages that are all related without having done the Proto-Language first, but it als...

Re: Akana Conlang Relay (Now with pumpkin.)
I can definitely tell this will be fun, and will be a great way to challenge myself. Just one more thing; how much of a grammar should I provide for my daughter lang, just a sketch? Just the morphology? Or a huge 40-50 page masterpiece?

Re: Akana Conlang Relay (Now with pumpkin.)
If Team 2 has an extra, and Team 1 needs someone to fill in, I'll join. Just let me know what's going on, how much grammar is needed, and I'll get to it.

Re: Linguistic resources you wish actually existed
Hmm, let's see, what do I wish actually existed, and was placed in my (very small) library? How about a book, one for each language in the world, that has everything about the language, is easy to read, with a "Simple English" version, and an actual "Modern English" version, and is so well organized...

Re: Khuzdul: expansion using Biblical Hebrew & Classical Ara
By vowel changes, do you happen to mean from Proto-Semitic to Hebrew and Arabic, as a sort of guide? Or from each into Khuzdul? No, I'm talking about when you go between 2 states, cases, etc. For instance, in Hebrew bayit "house" contracts to bêt in the construct form. Or, in Khuzdul, the prepositi...

Re: Khuzdul: expansion using Biblical Hebrew & Classical Ara
I haven't much knowledge on specifics in Semitic Grammar, and the little bit that I do have mainly comes from Akkadian and Phoenician, but sign me on if there's anything needed, I'll do what I can to help, mainly since Khuzdul has been the one language Tolkien has developed that I've been able to ke...

Wow, I'm just so fucking happy right now. Just found Krahmalkov on uz-translations. This made my day. I really only wanted to see if I...

Re: Phoenician Reconstruction
Basically, when it comes to the morphology, I only need a bit more on nouns, and I need information on adjectives and adverbs. I think I've got the nouns figured out. I still need quite a bit on syntax, phonotactics, etc. All I have so far is phonology and a 75% complete morphology. Also, I'm going ...

Phoenician Reconstruction
Hello, I'm new to the site as a member, but I've been lurking around for about a year now, and I'm currently trying to rewrite and reconstruct the grammar of the ancient Phoenician Language. The dialect I'm mainly reconstructing is based around 450-250 BC, maybe earlier, maybe later, and I've alread...
