Re: Himmaswa language

This is really cool. The script is awesome. I like how you've managed to give it a unique visual feel rather than making it look like a kanji ripoff. I think the vowel system is pretty cool too. I like how breathy front vowels are followed by [C]. I haven't looked at the grammar yet but I'm intrigue...

Basically, B takes over the viewpoint of people who were there.
It definitely sounds better to use 'go' there, to me.

Re: Serial Verb Constructions in Mɛdíṭṣai

Ok, so I got around to reading the first post, at least. Sorry for taking so long. I'll work through it post by post I guess. One thing that stuck out to me was: No verbal particle, argument or other material can intervene between members of the construction. Specifically the part about arguments. I...

Re: Serial Verb Constructions in Mɛdíṭṣai

I'm posting this to say that I definitely will give this a proper reading and then comment. I'm interested in serial verbs, it's clear that there's a lot of thought and detail put into this, and you've been known to produce some good stuff in this past, imo.

Re: The Gardening Splinter Thread

I wanna grow a tiny plant of some sort, just for the experience of growing a plant, really. I think it'd be a soothing experience in some ways. Probably a non-edible one but I guess it doesn't matter, my biggest criteria are ease of not completely failing, and price.

Just gave me this idea, but I dunno how wacked it is:

V > V: / in open syllables, V: > V@, then develop a rounded schwa then go from there.

Apparently my dad spoke Quebec French as a young whippersnapper but wasn't raised to continue speaking it. So I don't either. :( :( :(

Admittedly, Wikipedia was my main source for that. Anyway, I hope my post didn't come off as accusatory. It wasn't meant to be. Not that your post sounded defensive, I'm just making sure, you know?

Re: In search of isolating conlangs

Strange... I've always had an image of them as seperate: analicity refers to a lack of inflection paradigms, and isolationality to a near 1/1 M/W ratio Therefore, Mandarin Chinese and Vietnamese are on the opposite sides of isolationality: Mandarin has compounds, but is very analytic; while Vietnam...

Re: In search of isolating conlangs

My latest endeavour is basically all analytic, and mostly isolating. So far there is only one affix, for derivation. It doesn't have a phonology right now, and I would feel weird throwing up random glosses, so, I guess I'll just work on this till it sticks, or is at least semi-presentable. EDIT: it...

It's cool how you worked out all the finals like that, and the language does give off germanic and SE asian vibes. Where did the pharyngeal(ized) consonants come from though?
