Using the sound changes listed, here is what I have for ten: Ten is reconstructed as déḱṃ(t). Its forms include: collective form: *déḱṃt, ordinal: *déḱṃtos, *deḱṃHós If the (t) is not included, you get: déšwa If it is included, got two results as I was unsure if <y> counts as a front vowel: (Yes): ...

Re: Proto-Caspian (IE conlang)
So far so traditional, but at the same time I think 'wow, that's a lot of palatalisation and fricativisation!'. Yeah, the current stage isn't very crazy at all. Partly why it's just a quick write up and not a proper introduction. I'm slightly puzzled by x's variance with voiced sounds but γ not doi...

Proto-Caspian (IE conlang)
Proto-Caspian is the name of a PIE-derived language i have been working and reworking on for some time now. The name is simply to place it somewhere in our world before I haul it over to my conword where I shall collide it with the native languages there. Thus P.Casp is very much like any other earl...

Re: CCC cultures - By Fri 2/28
Since by Friday we won't have all 33 cultures, I thought that, even if people don't submit their cultures for voting, they could still submit them to add flavour to the world (which may or may not be taken into account by the dominant cultures). The last week and this one have been continual exams....

Re: The Quququqquq language / Quququqquq Qaqqaäa
So, ummm, wow, let's see here... Introduction Quququqquq is an extinct Kunipan language, with no native speakers, though people all over Fronties learn it for its unique mathematical properties (I'm not sure exactly what those properties are-- but, you know, the language has to be quaqua versal! And...

So how does possession of each bit of land work? Do we get to choose where we want to start our species/culture? Or are we relegated to our own creations? If so, does that mean I have ti populate a whole continent instead of just an island? ~Lyra we get to choose where to put our species. Oh, good,...

Re: Proto-Irenesian
Quququqquq is part of the larger Kunipan language family, which is sort of like our Polynesian in that it consists mostly of languages with minimalistic phoneme inventories. Of course there are exceptions, both on Earth (Iaai) and in Fronties (Sikorian). Quququqquq has the smallest phoneme inventor...

Proto-Irenesian -- and most Irenesian languages -- use both. It's like Vietnamese (except, of course, that Vietnamese is completely isolating) By the way, Irenesian is the largest language family in my conworld, with about 5000 languages. Some of them are outright weird, such as the 3-phoneme Ququq...

Re: CCC game - Voting rules discussion
Well, by popular demand, looks like we'll have some kind of ranked voting. :) However, I don't really know how to score it. Any suggestions? Each time a map is named first it gets 2 points added in its name. For 2nd only one point and then you go decreasing from there. At the end you make a total s...
