Re: Calendars and timekeeping
(Please note that all Zurvár terms given in this summary are pending conversion into an updated, less Englishy phonology...) The Zurvár are obsessed with the number 5, which is reflected heavily in their traditional calendar. Up until the 1960s they were nomadic - moving from alternate Earth to alte...

Re: Saltha Culture (Longish post)
Maybe they grow back, but a bit deformed and not quite as big? Like a gecko shedding it's tail.

Re: Saltha Culture (Longish post)
Very cool. I'll have to write up a similar summary for my conculture. Some young males, as a way of identifying themselves with a counter culture simular to the human "punk" culture trim the spikes on their heads down so they no longer have points, or even sometimes removing the spikes completly (Th...

Re: Flags
Maybe the ruins of the dinosaur attack are the main tourist draw in Hì, so they put it on the flag to remind the tourists of the dino ruins. Please come see our dino ruins! Certainly the three skeletons in the city museum are one of the city's major tourist draws. I've actually got the full account...

Re: Flags
Flag of Gorat Sûlbarn Hì (Hì): Hì is regarded as the second city of the Konsâtèum and displays its colours on its flag. The city's nickname is written across the flag, and a tranázár figure was added to the fly after the city was attacked by the creatures in 1975. What? The city was attacked by din...

Re: Flags
While I sort of like blue-cyan, I find that the specific shade of cyan you used in the ones on the left doesn't look too good - a bit dull and drab, and it doesn't clash well with the vibrant blue and red. Also, the yellow-on-green knot/cross/thing looks good, but the green-on-yellow tree doesn't. ...

Re: Flags
I quite like most of the colour combos I've used (hence my using them), but I'd be interested to hear which ones you particularly dislike. And the Kalif guys put a bridge and a wind turbine on their flag? Isn't that kinda like if Croatia put mechanical pencils and neckties on their flag? If the flag...

(Slight thread necromancy here, hope it don't qualify me for no stake burning...) For your delectation, a selection of Zurvár flags... http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7222/6940979742_489f1d865b_b.jpg (Stored on Flikr, hence the jpg format.
