Re: Messed Up Mythology
Suddenly Japan makes a lot more sense. Would you feel better if I pointed out that ancient Greek actors often wore giant bright-coloured strap-ons on stage? Basically 4chan levels of penis jokes. That would certainly make Lysistrata more interesting. A significant portion of the jokes in Lysistrata...

Ngas kinship terms
My linguistics professor is Dr. Burquest, who wrote what appears to be the only grammar of the African language Ngas available online. (Here, courtesy of UCLA: http://www.linguistics.ucla.edu/images/stories/Burquest.1973.pdf ) Anyway, we started doing a unit on semantics yesterday, and he gave us a ...

I would feel rude posting twice in a row, since that doesn't give anyone else the chance to, but I also don't want to see this thread get lost in the depths of no-one's-responded, so I guess if no one adds anything soon, I'll just put up another new country?

Re: Romanization challenge thread
I've got some ideas, but they depend on syllable structure, allowed consonant clusters, etc. If it's CV only then I've got one that only uses diacritics on vowels, but the more complex the syllable structure becomes, the more I end up using diacritics on both vowels and consonants :) I'm thinking, ...
