Re: Post your conlang's phonology

Still playing around with this a little, so open to feedback about how to make it more interesting / coherent / whatever. m p ɓ f v ⱱ n t t' s̪ z̪ ɾ̪ ts ts' s z l ɲ ç ɻ ŋ k k' x ɣ ŋm kp kp' ħ ʕ ʔ h i ʉ ə ɛ æ ɔ ɑ i: u: ɨ: əː ɛː ɑː æː Two tone opposition; contours can arise from vowel contracture. Sample lesson

Here's a sample lesson I wrote up for my current project. I'd appreciate any feedback on how easy it is to understand the explanations, how appropriate the pace of introducing things feels (is this too many concepts for one lesson? are there inflected words given as a whole that you feel should be e...

Consonant inventory: m n pʰ tʰ kʰ p t k q ʔ b d g s ʃ h v r j l Vowel inventory: Two high vowels <i u>, one mid <e>, one open <a>; <i u e> have +/-ATR variants, with <a> neu...

Evidentiality with multiple verbs

Does anyone know of a good source, or feel like explaining, how evidentiality functions in more complicated structures than the typical single verb examples? Things like: * "I know that you have it" / "I made her do it" / "I want him to come with me" - Which verb takes evidentialtiy marking? Do both...

Re: If natlangs were conlangs...

Berber would certainly draw some fire. "This is just a phoneme inventory, you forgot to put syllable constraints." "Oh...um...a syllable is any two or three sounds nearby each other. Look, I made this nifty sonority hierarchy to decide on nuclei. 'k' sounds like a good vowel if it's next to 't', rig...
