The latitude of the island means that the Wéykqá get 2 months a year of polar night, and 2 months a year of midnight sun. Perhaps because of this, the Wéykqá have an obsession with constructing clocks and timepieces. Just one thought for now: Wouldn't this apply to all cultures in your conworld, si...

Dunno if I agree with that. Many languages function perfectly well without marked aspect, for example Standard German, in which your first two examples would be expressed exactly the same with no loss of meaning. Point taken. Are there any natlangs without tense or aspect though? It seems ambitious...

The language simply does not mark any aspects, moods, tenses etc. on the verb; other constructs are used. The general way to indicate tense happens to be inflicting the phrase for "past", "future", "yesterday", "last week", "next month" etc. in the dative case, with the time preposition dur optiona...

So if verbs do not indicate tense (or aspect apparently), how does one indicate this if it is necessary? Are there any particles or standard adverbs for that purpose?
