Re: The Contradictory Feelings Thread
I love coffee. I had coffee with my breakfast this morning. I'm going swimming now in Kowloon Park and discovered that I was hungry again so I decided to refuel before my swim and had another coffee with my sandwich. Thing is I'm way too sensitive to caffeine and I will probably go into hyperactive ...

This made my day. Although my German is laughably poor, I know I'll be repeating this phrase to myself all day.

That's how I pronounce it, and I believe that's how it's most often pronounced in the UK.Serafín wrote:I used to pronounce "comrade" with /-eId/ until this week.

Re: Øynduyska - A Germanic Language
I would leave it as it is (option a). I think the alternating long and short vowels look lovely. Also, since I haven't commented on Øynduyska before: I really enjoyed reading about the use of tense and aspect in the language. The periphrastic constructions remind me of stuff like "fara að (gera)" in...

Re: Munutuni: The Ugly Language
Maybe you can extend the number of syllables with some hideous clusters? tn- and pm- sound appropriately ugly. tn is lovely! I have tn in many of my conlangs; in some it's even its own phoneme as a prestopped nasal. I like this language, Chengjiang, but I would also find it hard to work with a lang...

I disagree with Qxentio. I think having complicated terminology for your conpeople is a fun exercise.

3. Allophony and Morphophonological Processes - Part II Here I'm going to introduce my favourite morphophonological process in TLFKAT so far. 1. Phonology The analysis of TLFKAT phonology presented here is perhaps somewhat questionable. Comments, suggestions, and criticism are welcome. Consonants In this analysis of the phonology, TLFKAT has 34 consonant phonemes as laid out in the following table. A further 5 marginal phonemes are liste...

0. Welcome to the Esseintial TLFKAT Scratchpad! I've decided to start a scratchpad to present a work-in-progress nicknamed TLFKAT for now. So What is the Language Called? Unfortunately, I'm having great difficulty deciding on a name for the language, especially as I keep changing the phonology. The...

Re: Enello
Thank you for your feedback, Cromulant. Why do you use <ı> when there is no <i>? I'd advise against that, as it represents /i/; using a letter other than <i> implies that it is something other than /i/. As with the dental fricatives, I can unfortunately only say that it is a matter of taste. I find ...
