Re: Number systems, scripts for numerics, and hand counting
Any thoughts or impressions on the approach I've taken here? I don't have that much experience as to how closely it mimics real-world numeral systems, but I took a similar approach for the Deevie numeral system and I definitely like the development and the results. The details of your process are i...

Re: Wajajad script
I like it, it reminds me very much the Futhark and related scripts with a little bit of Devanagari. Phonemically its basically identical to English though isn't it? I assume with the development of the language, the letters would be replaced with the actual phenomes of the language instead. If not t...

Re: Number systems, scripts for numerics, and hand counting
Since you're basing things on binary counting on one hand, an observation: The 0-to-31-on-one-hand technique can be treated as the basis for a base-32 number system. i.e. I could count 0 to 31 on my right hand, then express 32 as 1-on-left and 0-on-right. This lets you express positive integers up ...

Re: Meet my angry Dravian penpal!
Myself I lived in a city of 600 people and later 1500 before moving to a village* of over 60,000 people on the outskirts of a major city where I moved later in life with close to 3 million residents. So I wonder what constitutes a large or small population to you? To me 6000 sounds pretty large for ...

Number systems, scripts for numerics, and hand counting
Since I was a kid and I came across the Babylonian 12/60 base number system I've always been into the idea. We still use a their number system today for time and geometry. One of the things that I found amusing/odd was that even though they had a complex positional numeric system their individual "n...

Re: Con-Programming Languages
Interesting idea. I pretty much split my time thinking about conlang and building a real programming language, so it would make sense to join the two.
