Re: Compose key for Windows

It's not entirely bad; I don't think I could ever completely give up a custom MSKLC layout in favour of a compose key. Being able to bind AltGr+E = é is a lot more efficient than, say, binding AltGr, E = é.

Re: Examples of truly unique conlang features?

Neat, but not negative number, so I doubt that was what was meant. That's just classes of nouns with collective forms instead of singulative. (Which, I suppose, is where all the languages with "complete set" numbers have gone...)

Maybe you use it to represent reversals, e.g. in motion? I could see "-3 people went home" as meaning "3 people came".

Re: Examples of truly unique conlang features?

That's cool. Reminds me that I wrote down something about a "group of" suffix, which would turn "dog" into "dog pack" and "tree" into "forest". And, now you come to mention it, if I suffix it onto "type of Noun/s" it could have a similar effect to yours. Have you found anything similar in natlangs?...

Re: Examples of truly unique conlang features?

I have a more or less similar thing in an otherwise vaguely defined conlang: Tense markers are clitics that can be attached to nouns and verbal nouns. In my case, it doesn't imply that all nominals are treated like events or processes. Diachronically those tense markers come from a verb meaning "ex...

I'm planning on putting together an alien language where all nominals are treated like events or processes, and hence are subject to verbal inflections.
