Re: Con-Programming Languages
Though the Fym (nor anyone else on Cytàm) has computers anything like the modern sense of the word - maybe an Antikythera mechanism-level device at most, I am currently working on a formal language to describe their logogrammic conscript, Fymňal, similar to CJKV description languages: I call it Ṇígj...

Re: Lulani
Are there really only three adjectives in your language? The ones you've listed seem to be concerned with specifying a subset of a set (some, different, certain), so I might expect adjectival strategies for other divvying-up, like 'all but one', 'this one alone', and so on. Is there a motivation fo...

Re: Phonoaesthetics
Personally, I Chibcha tops my list so far: http://globalrecordings.net/en/program/C38203 . It sounds so respectful (for lack of a better word) and soothing. Yeah, I know it's a Christian evangelism track, but hey, it's the best I could find, given the relative obscurity of the language. And you do h...

Re: In search of isolating conlangs
How is that isolating then? Isolating and compounding aren't exclusive. Exactly: Fym is itself what I term "polyanalytic": Highly synthetic - though the phrase is the basic unit of speech, not the "word" , but it entirely lacks bound morphemes: Zī ňí p̃ejá xét rà tàs ŝycȳt cēp nsé hwā ([t͡sʰi˧ ɲɪ˥ ...

Thanks for responding, and don't worry if you're a noob or not :) I'm very much a noob, but I've been studying and I'll make an attempt at feedback. Please forgive me if my analysis is wrong. Phonology It's easier for me to see what's happening if all the consonants are arranged in a chart. I have t...

Let's consider a Palethian name: Kadoro Najítu bai Balomy e Fasa *. In literal English, she is "Kadoro Najítu ship Balomy of Fassa". The first part, Kadoro , is the given name, selected by one's parents at birth. The second part ( Najítu ) is the family name, which is usually given by a husband to ...

Re: Names in Culture
Fym people do not use surnames or kin-related naming conventions (personal names are mononymous). Chosen by both the family, the community and the community's leaders in a naming ceremony shortly (generally twenty days) after the child's birth, personal names are always gender-neutral and unisex, as...

Re: Igbo and other West African languages
I find the fact that Igbo's nasal consonants are apparently allophones of voiced stops intriguing myself, and I've been making great use of this feature in a recent filler conlang, FTR.

Re: Fymcep
Verbs Verbs do not concord with the arguments of their clause, this being related to the fact that Fym is a non-configurational language. However, verbs do have a rich and open array of particles with which to express a variety of grammatical categories, and furthermore all verbs must take at least...

Re: Unisex names
For the record, Hawaiian names are entirely unisex, at least according to Wikipedia.
Also, it appears that most Urhobo names are unisex (and proverbial in nature). Even more so with Tibetan names.

Pro-Forms Anaphora, Cataphora & Demonstrative Forms- Pronouns are obligatorily governed by either an anaphoric or a cataphoric or a deictic placed directly after the referent: Nō is the particle for the anaphoric; şjè is the cataphoric; the demonstrative particle is m̃ū. Allomorphy leads to substan...

Fymcep
Pronounced [fə̄ˑmˈʈ͡ʂʰēp ], Fymcep is my core conlang project for my conworld and conuniverse; I use the latter term as well because the Fym [ˈfɨ̄m] culture goes all the way from the dawn of civilization on their Earthly planet, Cytàm [t͡ʂʰə̄.ˈtʰɑ̀m] to a Posthuman future some 8 millennia in the fut...

You might want to look at Washo: Like your conlang, it also has a lot of tenses. The site I linked to also has a dictionary under its "Resources" section, if you're interested in Native Californian Languages.

Re: Conworld without magic, anyone?
I very much like conworlds without magic, and i don't think any of mine has any. magic just gives me the feeling of a copout, like "i want the world to be consistent and plausible, except sometimes i don't care about that and things just happen because". i don't want to sort of bash people who like...

In Fym country (the main focus of the as-yet unwritten stories set on Cytàm), the government is a highly corporatist delegative meritocracy/aristocracy/oligarchy (depending on your point of view), with the P̃oihỳiceup ([k͡pʰoi̯˧həi̯˩t͡ʃʰeu̯p˧]), meaning "(they) speak for something", being the electe...

Re: Examples of truly unique conlang features?
In one of my filler languages for Cytàm (previously known as Ceutàm; I've referred to it on the CBB), I have started working on a language with consonant labialization harmony, known provisionally as Tlwěkwīdwù ([t͡ɬʷěkʷȳdʷù]).
