Re: Con-Programming Languages
A programming language based on a conlang with logograms would be pretty interesting.

Re: Phonoaesthetics
I like ɐ, ɪ̈, o, ɛ, and the diphthong ɪə. I like aspirated consonants, devoiced sonorants, rhotics, sibilants, ð, and the glottal stop. I hate syllables that end in ŋ. It sounds good in the onset. I don't get why European languages only allow them in the coda. The one thing that keeps me from liking...

Re: Idiolectal pronunciations
i know you're a newbie and you probably don't know ipa yet, but respelling words in english to indicate a pronunciation can be really misleading, and we try to avoid it here... what i mean is, i think you mean [ɫ̩], syllabic dark L, or [əɫ], but i would pronounce wool as [ʊɫ] or [ʉɫ] which is compl...

Re: Hermaphrodite Conworld
Given the difficulty of having a kid. I see a Roman view (penetrated partner = bitch) of sex being common. I don't see mutual impregnation being common (Maybe for political reasons between leaders, a la arranged marriages of royals.) I see people being divided into "male" and "female" roles, based o...

Re: Names in Culture
People have two given names (The name of your clan isn't considered part of your name.) The first name is the Public Name. The second name is the Private Name. Using both names together is acceptable. The Public Name alone is more common, but using the Private Name by itself is very insulting, (Unl...

Re: Audio example of an epiglottal trill?
It wasn't that guy. It was another video, one with showing the MRI of the mouth and tongue novements, but about the epiglottal trill. I know what you're talking about. They have a video for every epiglottal consonant, but the trill. I don't find that guy to be a reliable source of linguistic info, ...

Re: Idiolectal pronunciations
It's not idiolectal, but it's still weird. People in my town (that's an hour north of Knoxville, Tennessee) pronounce the "ville" in city names as "vool" (rhymes with wool), and the "boro" or "borough" in town names is pronounced "berl". So you get the towns of "Knoxvool" and "Middlesberl". XD

Re: Idiolectal pronunciations
I say "Thay Ngyew" for thank you sometimes. "Ngy" is actually the onset of the word "you", and I stress "thank" hard but I still leave off the coda. Although that might be normal for the hillbilly town I live in. I haven't paid that much attention.

Audio example of an epiglottal trill?
Can anyone find an audio example of an epiglottal trill? YouTube and Google are fruitless.

Re: giant swamps
I want a large inland expanse (Not India size, but huge.), in my conworld, that is mostly just a couple meters below sea level (With deviations into hills and lakes of course.), surrounded by higher elevation land. Would that lowland area turn into a giant swamp region? Sorry I know I'm just firing ...

giant swamps
I was thinking about what it would be like to have a giant inland swamp in a con-world. Like the size of India. Is it possible? How could it form? I know nothing about this, and I'm interested any info you have on this subject.
