Actually, Iau has 6 phonemic consonants and 8 phonemic vowels.

(Not to mention having 11 diphthongs, 2 triphthongs, and crazy tones.)

Re: Advice on gemination?

AFAIK, geminates sound basically the same as two of the same consonant in a row. Like the <...t t...> English <hat take> [hæt:eɪk] or the <...g g...> in <bug game> [bʌg:eɪm]. Just make sure the first one is not released.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Script The script is somewhat featural. I think it might be an abugida, or a syllabic alphabet. Each character represents one phonemic syllable. The writing direction is left to right and top to bottom. Syllable blocks can be separated into three parts. The top is for optional consonant onsets. The...

Seed 1936516521 has the vowel system of /i u a a˞ ɑ ɒ/. 4 low vowels and no mid vowels!

It has a nice little consonant inventory though:

/m n/
/p t t͡s t͡ɕ k/

Syllabic plosives? That is weird.

I wonder if it could be diachronically justifiable to say that /ə/ was lost before voiced stops. Even then, one would expect there to be syllabic resonants.
