Re: Post your number system
ы is pronounced /ɨ/ in Russian, which is an allophone of /i/ after hard consonants. Slavic languages have two major sets of consonants: hard and soft. Instead of having forty something different characters to represent things, the vowels preceding the noun carry the /ʲ/. Therefore you have two sets...

Re: Post your number system
Eh..., I find your improper and nonstandard use of Cyrillic to be an eyesore, much like someone using "e" for /d/ and "b" for /o/. using <q> for a vowel, on the other hand, is proper and good Who uses that like a vowel and what value? the value is [Q], and guess who would possibly I am posting agai...

Re: Post your number system
I'm not sure, but I think you've put the stress mark (should be ˈ and not an apostrophe ('), btw) after the stressed syllable, whereas it should come before. Apart from that I can't really correct anything because it seems like a bit of an odd phonology that defies Russian and other Cyrillic-writte...

Re: Help me to classify my conlang
Maybe you could classify it as Altaic? Altaic is the whole branch in general, I am searching for something deeper. Either Altaic or Para-Mongolic (Mongolic plus Khitan). If Khitan is still too similar, you can call it a "Macro-Mongolic" language, which is a fictional category. I've been actually th...

Help me to classify my conlang
I have been working on a conlang called "Moghur" already for several months but I still have some issues to classify it, it is based on a language who evolved from the already extinct languages of Khitan and Jurchen having grammatical rules and words similar as mongolian. My first classification fo...

Re: Post your number system
Yes sorry, I just ignored that, I don't know why maybe I was obsessed with the look.din wrote:Yes, that's what I was trying to tell you. It's not about how they look to a user of the Latin script; these symbols mean something different for users of Cyrillic.

Re: Post your number system
Why the pseudo-Cyrillic orthography? Cyrillic is used quite flexibly when transcribing different languages, but it's really odd to assign completely arbitrary sounds to the letters. For example, you use: и for /n/ when it is normally a vowel pronounced /i/ э for /g/ when it is also normally a vowel...
