Re: Irulu
Nouns and Pronouns Nouns At the heart of an Irulu noun is a root of one to five consonants, with the most common being biconsonantal. The root is combined with other consonants of vowels and affixes to convey grammatical meaning. Nouns are no exception. Adjectives agree with the noun in gender and ...

Re: Irulu
It was not based off Chavakani's thread, and I appreciate the feedback you have given. I believe I should have elaborated the situation of Irulu. It is more of a literary language than a a spoken one, and therefore many of these phonological facts are intermediate forms and are rarely spoken by the ...

Irulu
After thinking about the first three conlangs I have presented on this forum for my conworld, I have decided to scrap them, at least for this conworld, and replacing them with a modified version of an older project, called Irulu (Irulu - Iruru [i'ɾuɾu]). This will probably be used as a naming langua...

Re: Nice sounding natlangs
If you don't mind me asking, I'm curious, how'd you get to be so familiar with Malayalam? :) One of my parents speaks it, and in all of my trips to India I quite a while with my relatives that speak it. Despite that, I could not speak a word in Malayalam, despite hearing it everyday, until my fourt...

Re: Nice sounding natlangs
I doubt I've completely shaken off the Malayalee prejudice yet, though. (Malayalees tend to think Tamil is just bad Malayalam). After spending a few weeks in Tamil Nadu, I learned that most Tamils think of Malayalam as debased Tamil. I personally think them as different languages, but I have a feel...

Re: Nice sounding natlangs
I'm glad someone likes Malayalam. Maybe I shouldn't be glad they also don't like Tamil so much, but idk. If you are speaking to me, I fear that some personal feelings towards Tamil influenced my decision. Despite this, having heard both languages spoken by native speakers, I have to say that Tamil ...

Re: Phonaesthetic archetypes for fantasy races
It's not something I'm interested in that much, but I thought it might be nice if I put out a few of my ideas about fantasy-lang phonologies. By fantasy-lang I mean a language or languages design for a fantasy race to appear in a fantasy setting. In this post I will be focusing on the three "main" ...

Re: Post your conlang's phonology
I am quite new to conlanging, but these are my first three phonologies/phonemic inventories, and input is appreciated and criticism encouraged, especially in regard to naturalness, or too many similarities to a natlang. Not of the phonology is done yet, so the empty spots will be filled. So, here's ...
