Re: Venting thread that embraces everyone without distinctio

I fear I may be developing depression, or something of the sort. Irritability is a strong indicator of depression, and given my anxiety and a previous bout of apathy it doesn't seem farfetched. At least today I feel better, despite waking up feeling pretty awful. May I ask what age you are? No, beca...

Re: Venting thread that embraces everyone without distinctio

not really better today. I thought I was, but once again I get home and mom tells me to bring the friggin garbage bin up the driveway. Worst chore ever. So simple I don't see why I should be slaved into doing it. And it's raining, which means my hand will get friggin wet. and I have to pull it up tw...

Re: Venting thread that embraces everyone without distinctio

Today was so good in school. I properly enjoyed my classes, nothing too boring in any of them. And I got a favourite teacher to sign my TA application form! It was great, 'cause that means I have him once in each semester next year! Only issue I had was that I forgot I had a scone in the fridge I me...

Re: Venting thread that embraces everyone without distinctio

Just most people in general who are for death penalty. My mom and most of my friends agree with it, if you want specifics. I certainly would want it used within reason, and I doubt the aforementioned supporters would want otherwise too.

Re: Venting thread that embraces everyone without distinctio

That's stupid. I think the people who agree with the death penalty are actually a lot more reasonable, which is why I assumed if it were a thing something like shoplifting would not get someone executed… sentencing someone for life just for shoplifting is retarded! Again, this shows how little I kno...

Re: Venting thread that embraces everyone without distinctio

To put this in more concrete terms: in the US, you have people serving life without parole for shoplifting. You have people serving life without parole for one-time non-violent drug offences. Actual crimes for which people have served life without parole or an equivalently long sentence without par...

Re: Venting thread that embraces everyone without distinctio

Cynical is not the same as psychopathic. Besides, if we're dolling out death to those who are wastes of resources, surely it's those who fantasise about murdering prisoners who ought to be first against the wall? Forgot to address this: 1) I don't fantasize doing the killing; that's just wrong. The...

Re: Venting thread that embraces everyone without distinctio

You're throwing around those terms incorrectly, Sal >.> Being non-pro-life doesn't equate to psychopathy/sociopathy. One can certainly believe these things and still be empathetic and feeling, even towards those who would be affected (in fact, maybe especially). But whatev, you do raise a good point...

Re: Venting thread that embraces everyone without distinctio

It's an awfully controversial matter, so wouldn't we take serious considerations in it? Like, if the person hasn't been proven innocent within a decade or so (despite heavy research into their innocence), I think it's fair to say off with their head. And if it's super obvious they're guilty, I say s...

Re: Venting thread that embraces everyone without distinctio

I don't see how having people sentenced to life in prison is less "callous" than doing them in entirely.

Re: Venting thread that embraces everyone without distinctio

I wish more people were as cynical as me, at least almost as cynical. Then I wouldn't have to explain my fantasies of people who are sentenced to life in prison just be offed. They're such a waste of resources to keep alive. At least starve 'em to death. Apparently it's actually painless, contrary t...

Re: The Innovative Usage Thread

It is completely fine to me, the only change I would make is taking out the "back" as Travis has said. But even that is fine, since redundancies akin to this are common in natural speech.

Jeg hader navne, der har forskellig stavemåder. Så irriterende! I hate names that have different spellings. So annoying!

*mid-teen human purrs back* Cool fact, I can actually purr and my meows are so on point! *Gasp* Maybe you're a mountain lion, too! :o :P Just part cat ;) I would hope lion (not mountain lion), to coincide with my being a Leo :-D To be fair, I think I do a decent wolf as well as crow. She just takes a long, long time to get used to you… kinda like me! *gasp* what if I have a way with the wolves too?...

Apparently not :P Which is funny, since the moment I met her she liked me, but he's had her for about two years or something (I forget), and she still doesn't like him. Jonesy was also apparently very skittish when Semba first got him, and when I was first able to meet him I was told that he probly ...

Re: Venting thread that embraces everyone without distinctio

I've always found "[he/she/they] who" phrases are almost always so even in non-subject positions. I can't recall any "[him/her/them] who" except in dialectal speech (eg, Piggy in LOTF, but he also uses the latter type for subject too).

Would I agree were it that the real object of "over" be not they, but rather "they of whose names [...]"
