Sharing my Magic System would first require me to:
1) Finish my fantasy conworld.
2) Finish my language families.
3) Explain the rules of the conworld.
4) Explain the Magic System.
I'm not even done with Step 1. And steps 3 and 4 would have to be done in a separate topic.

Re: Copulas (and possibly more) in Aspect-inflected Language
Just some things to add: As David Rabinowitz already alluded to, the range of function of aspect is going to be language dependent. Copulae seem especially versatile in languages that mark aspect. Usually it's best to deal with these matters by looking at TMA systems as a whole. In your particular ...

Re: Copulas (and possibly more) in Aspect-inflected Language
Just be careful what the actual distinction is. "Perfective" and "imperfective" are wildly imprecise. The present tense in "I am a very tall midget" is quite unambiguous, but there are languages that have aspectual distinctions in the copula in the past tense (Romance). "I was a very tall midget" i...

Copulas (and possibly more) in Aspect-inflected Languages
I am currently creating a conlang which inflects based on Aspect instead of Tense. It's something I'm not used to, so I'm having trouble figuring out how to express certain things. On "A quick update" in Ephemera, I had asked about expressing age in such a language and got a solution I believe works...

Re: [RE: Courses For Your Conlang] My Conlang Academy
Ok, finally had the chance to take a look, sorry for the delay (real life caught up). It's a nice site, and depending on how difficult it is to create a course it seems to have potential. Also, not unimportant, it should be easily possible to download the courses in some readible format, just in ca...

Can't wait to see you on there. One thing to note is that right now as I'm trying to get things to a more usable state I'm going to be doing a lot of editing with the course. Ok, just reply to here when you're done, and I'll take a look then. JAL Just published Lecture 1 and edited the OP. See you ...

[RE: Courses For Your Conlang] My Conlang Academy
So after a while of seeing the thread "Courses For Your Conlang", I looked around on the internet for an online course creator and found a website called Teachable. I'm currently trying it out and so far things are going good. You can actually make multiple courses as well, so that's good. I made a ...

Re: [SCRIPT] Adapting Featural System to Cursive + Is it goo
Suggestions: When writing individual consonants, the overall direction is to start at the top right and work your way to the bottom left. This is reversed for /k ʔ ɡ/ and aspiration. Your script has a lot of right angles, which can be written as large curves, while the acute angles can be written a...

Sorry my friend. I'd try and take better quality images, however this webcam and my iPhone are my only two picture taking tools (and my iPhone only has 16 GB of storage (how is Apple getting away with that again?)).mèþru wrote:It is hard to see what's written with the poor image quality,

Re: Courses For Your Conlang
There needs to be a website or something that lets conlangers make entire courses to teach people their conlangs. ... Considering I'm also a computer nerd I'd make it, but I don't have anything I can use as a web server. EDIT: Literally just Google searched "online course creator" and got a lot of r...

Re: Courses For Your Conlang
Interesting. Personally I wouldn't go this route of just putting words and their meanings in front of them, but to each their own. Good luck.

Re: [SCRIPT] Adapting Featural System to Cursive + Is it goo
Here's some writing in the script (and therefore my conlang). The first sentence is basically the word for "Hey" or "Hello", the second sentence is me introducing myself (I had to switch around the [n] and the [s] in my last name to make it one syllable long) and the script, and the last sentence (o...

Re: [SCRIPT] Adapting Featural System to Cursive + Is it goo
Please give some samples of written words or a sentence in the script. If it's hard to scan you can do it in ms paint or something. I'm not exactly good at digital graphic editing software (plus, my only two options on Linux are GIMP and ASERPRITE (a sprite editing program)) so I'll try to scan it....

Re: [SCRIPT] Adapting Featural System to Cursive + Is it goo
Well. Let me try to do this. 1) No, I do not have bigger pictures. I took them with a webcam and a piece of software designed for use with scanners. 2) I never said I needed one, but someone on the bus asked me if I had a cursive version of the script and I froze up. 3) Here's a link. Here's another...

[SCRIPT] Adapting Featural System to Cursive + Is it good?
So I've created a featural writing system (like Korean Hangul and the writing system Artifexian made up for OA) for my language Checkish, or Cekşi [tʃekʃi]. However, I do not know how I would adapt the writing system for cursive handwriting. How would it even work? The syllable blocks run from top t...

Re: Favorite/least favorite features from natlangs
I can easily tell you my least favorite parts of natural languages.
Having multiple declension and conjugation classes. I mean, why have -ar, -er, and -ir endings when you could just have -ar? At the very least just merge the -er and -ir endings since the only difference is the nosotros ending.
