piraha has a lateral linguolabal double flap (according to wikipedia), so i don't see why not. it doesn't seem particularly outlandish, if unpronounceable to my English-speaking brain

you are correct about the macrons. the acute accent is rising tone (high to mid), grave is falling (mid to high). as for the additional cognate sets, i shall provide if i have time after work tomorrow

òm in New Puthe, ŋormmʼ in Old Puthe. Rebe has ŋomjēm. all originate from the Old Rebe compound gorbjēm (gor "out" + bjēm "mind").

so i toned down the tones (no pun intended, though very much enjoyed) originally created in Puthe, leaving more room to grow for the tones in the next stage of the language. the result is a fair bit more streamlined, and resembles the original Memeyk, but with tones and nasal vowels. here's Drinking...

Japanese has ii "good", which comes from an earlier form yoi which is still used for conjugation, so:

ii "is good"
yokatta "was good"
yonai "is not good"
yonakatta "was not good"

though not sure if that really counts
