Re: Post your conlang's inspiration

so yeah, on topic n shit for Rhean: Turkish and various IE-langs for the grammar, a liiiiiiiiiiiittle bit Japanese, also for the grammar. From Turkish and Japanese I took Rhean's strong head-finalness and agglutinative morphology; from Greek, Latin, Russian I took its fusional-ish morphology, use of...

Oh go away, it's so fucking annoying that on this fucking board you're all such grammar cunts. Take this shit and shove it up your stiff arseholes. I perfectly well know what "would" means in the context Straio uses it, I don't need your stupid lesson. Finch was right that I and eventually Straio v...

No, "would" doesn't MEAN "fuck" for crying out loud ... There's already a well-established Thing where you use "would" without explicitly saying "would fuck so-and-so." jesus christ why does this need to be explained, this is well attested throughout the anglosophere Dude, look over there. Yeah, her...

Re: Words that are their own opposites

I didn't mean just in Japanese, sorry. It seemed a logical jump in my head, but to clarify: Including my Japanese teacher... you're in japanese class? http://i.imgur.com/CscRb.png is ... this intentional? EDIT: okay it won't be obvious to everyone but it's hard not to be reminded of the word kōmon .

Re: Simplistic auxlang

Aw, fuck. That wording stems from and old version, where I though a headword just was the word modified by the adjective, in this kind of a context. Sorry. That's what I meant anyway. The word of which the adjective is an attribute. "headword" isn't the issue, "noun phrase" is. white cat is a noun ...

For the same reason that the correct plural of the computer peripheral is "mouses", not "mice". This is the place where usage trumps any kind of theory you can throw at it (because the theory can only be backed up by usage). It's "mice" "mice" is the ONLY form I've seen in computer stores or catalo...

I've tried by holding my finger around my eyes to feel if I anything changes when I smile, but it don't if I don't force it. you're missing the point. It's still a smile that you're thinking about . Your spontaneous smile could be different, but you'd have to find a candid photo or get called on it...

most people's eyes squint a little some, a lot. your eyes PROBABLY are affected by your smile even if you aren't aware of it if you tested this by going to your bathroom mirror and smiling at yourself, you won't learn anything. (and I know not only from observing people but from spending the last se...
