Re: The Contradictory Feelings Thread

yeah that's not "brewing"
"brewing" is when for example I put a bunch of honey and spices and water in a carboy for eight weeks and it becomes booze

what you're doing there is "mixing" -- specifically, mixing just about the world's shittiest highball.

I don't have a lot to contribue except to third what Nessari and Radius said, from another insider. I'm from the same general area as Radius, although on the other side of the duty-free shops, and I've also noticed* that this feature is one that we go light on in this neck of the woods. * in the spe...

Re: the Old Granny thread

I guess there are places where chicken is expensive around here it's way cheaper than any other meat but I get put off eating it sometimes because a couple blocks down the hill from me is a big grey monolith where chickens go to become a non-count noun and it's been sporting some blatant but chronic...

Re: The Innovative Usage Thread

from one of my friends, this use of super for emphasis seems to be spreading among my circle

"Hendricks? Is that the really good gin?"
"It super is."

as well as a similar use of mega

"But I don't really like gin."
"Yeah but you'll like this one. You gotta try it."
"I gotta?"
"You mega gotta."

Re: "Collect all two"

The Japanese equivalent to "let's" is much more commonly used than "let's" is in English, so a lot of instances of "let's" are a result of direct translations. Well, that and you can't just go doing things on your own. That would be completely degenerate behaviour. All things must be done together ...

Re: "Collect all two"

not a hell of a lot, other than that it smells like Engrish But others here are confirming my own impression that there isn't any dialect at all in which "all two" isn't weird as all hell, and unlikely to be produced even by accident -- much less left there through a reread after being produced by a...
