The butt-hating Jamaican evangelical is pretty hilarious, actually. I think we're about due for some Japanese Weird, so here it is: RoboGeisha . And be warned, it is no ordinary Weird, nor even ordinary Japanese Weird. (... and that Red House commercial is freaking classic.) I've encountered a lot ...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v193/eddy_the_great/cosmic_obama.jpg I honestly don't know what to make of this one. Presumably it came from some kind of New Age or mystical artist aiming to portray Obama as some sort of cosmic force leading us to a transcendent future. Maybe. Reminds me of the a...

3-D holographic display is almost here! You know, I've seen probably a half-dozen different potential 3D display technologies discussed over the last couple of years. Most of them seem useful, all of them seem cool, but to me one has always stood out among the rest as the most, eh, "authentic". Tha...

Surgery by light of cell phones. I've navigated a mile into drainage systems by cellphone light. Walked all the way through (~3 miles) w/ a regular flashlight. While it's true that cellphones are increasingly finding use as lighting devices (as well as, interestingly, replacing the lighter-sway at ...

I remember when Jackie Chan announced he was getting married at least two women attempted to commit suicide, one succeeding. Well, I don't remember it--it was before I was born, but I remember reading it several times in I Am Jackie Chan . So I guess what I'm trying to say is that the key is to be a...

(ai) is always /?/ and (au) is always /o/. ... ... Flaid /fl?d/ rhymes with 'plaid', not 'played'. Well, in that case, it's Mark's fault for choosing such a silly example word. I'd never heard it used once in my life. As one who, like Mark, survived the 70s (the period when the flaids were created)...

Ok, the program is semi-done. So far, it'll convert any Elkar?l text that requires only one face. I haven't implemented multi-face support yet (sounds fancy) because I have to leave soon; it won't really be very hard. The reverse transliterator should be easy too. So here it is: http://cgi-bin.spac...

Suggestion: Insert a spacing symbol because it?s hard to tell where one word begins and the other ends. I know there are some languages (Amharic?) that use : to space words, and :: to space sentences. Obviously you can?t use :, but you need something else. Maybe . to space words (more clearly, spac...

Elkar?l emoticons
Well, I've completed the Elkar?l ASCII transcription scheme, and I have to say it turned out to be harder than it looked. I've tried to stay as true as possible to the graphical nature of Elkar?l's writing system, but in a few places I've had to work with things a bit to get them to come out right. ...

The premise is a simple love story between two school girls So we'll get to see the conservatism of Verduria in action as the main conflict. I wrote a fanfic set in Verduria once, but everyone said it was socialist propaganda. Eh? Lesbian relationships in Verduria are quite common, and perfectly so...

..fridged... I'm not sure if that's a misspelling of "frigid" or just a weird derivative of "fridge," but either way it strikes me as dang funny for some reason. :D :D Derivation from "fridge". I'm too lazy to write "refridgerated". Of course, now I have to write this explanation, so it kinda defea...
