Re: Post your conlang's phonology
I was thinking of making a sound system for a language (spoken by humanoids who have the same oral cavity as Humans) which would maximize the difficulty for transcription. In less awkward wording: I want to have a phonology which is the most difficult to transcribe in the Latin alphabet. (Pre)Aspira...

Re: Post your conlang's phonology
Proto-Alpianic is a protolang I am currently working on for a collaborative family project in the League of Lost Languages; it is related to Old Albic, about as close as Greek is to Latin. Consonants /p t k/ < p t k > /pʰ tʰ kʰ/ < ph th kh > /pf ts kx/ < pf ts kx > /f s x h/ < f s x h > /m n ŋ/ < m...

Re: Phonoaesthetics
This is actually a great phonology for a conlang: Here it is, tabulated: CONSONANTS Labial: p bʷ m Alveolar: t~ɾ n s z ts Alveopalatal: ɕ Velar: k kʷ VOWELS i o a ai ao That is pretty awesome. Phonologically it seems Austronesian or... I'm not really sure. You should really consider making a langua...

Re: Post your conlang's phonology
I was toying around with some more ideas and I'm thinking about the most spoken language on the world my main language is spoke on. I'm going to give a stab at it. It may be the most spoken language on the planet but it has rare traits. Tipaahn Consonants Nasals: /m̥ m n̼̊ n̼ n̥ n/ Plosives /p b t̼ ...

Re: Post your conlang's phonology
This is for Gnoughish. I came up with the orthography ages ago, and never did the phonology to accompany it, so this is largely experimental. - /a e i o u ɛ œ ɶ e: o: / <a e i o u ea oe oa ee oo> - /aj aw ja jo iə wa oj ow/ <ai~ay au~aw ia eo ie wa oi~oy ou~ow> (I assume that ~ can used for "or", i...

Are the voiceless nasals and laterals common? Why you no have voiceless labiovelar approximant? I'd like to see more.

Re: Post your conlang's phonology
I had velar, bilabial and labiodental nasals, but I removed them; they didn't sound nice in any of the words I put them into. Generally according to WALS Chapter 5: Voicing and Gaps in Plosive Systems http://wals.info/chapter/5 /p/ and /g/ are the most likely to disappear (perhaps together) but no ...

Re: Sound Change Game
There are no voiced fricatives, no non-obstruent laterals, no open back vowel, nor are their any palatals in Tletlwan so they'd mangle this word pretty fiercely I'd presume. I rather find that to be the point of this thread. Tletlwan xə̀ii [xʷəi:] :> Maja krui [kχɾʷi] Maja krui [kχɾʷi] :> Miar kqʰr...

Re: Post your conlang's phonology
you could use <z> but <j> is fine too. hell, some transcription systems use <j> for /dz/. if i were you i'd be more worried about the questionable use of ogoneks and g-breve -- i don't know of a single orthography where g-breve is a stop. just about any other diacritic on g would work, although i'd...
