Re: Flying Battle

Perhaps caltrops is not the right word: I mean relatively heavy pointy cutty hurty things that hurt when you throw them.

I mean, a bag of those things dropped onto a guy... auch!

Re: Flying Battle

Very true, plate is probable not going to happen. At most I see a plate over the viscera and a skullcap, maybe greaves or some scale covering the chest: Then again, it's your wings that keep you alive up there, and they're big things, so maybe armor is besides the point since any hit to the wings, w...

Re: Flying Battle

Well I suppose that definitely depends on the relative strenght of the fliers: I've heard of birds flying away carrying goats, so a bit of armor doesn't sound necessarily impossible.

People will be a lot more interested in systems than in trivia. So you tell us that Mukuch - you eat food Mukach - it eats food Don't take this the wrong way, but that's not in any way interesting. How does that work? what's happening under the hood? does muk mean [to eat food] and uch/ach/ich/whate...

Re: Flying Battle

I'm a bit too swamped at work to properly think about this, but here's what immediately springs to my mind: if i'm flying and I'm using my hands to do it, then there's two kinds of people I'm fighting against: flyboys and ground fellas. Flyboys are, as am I, fragile: one good hit of anything and I'm...

Re: Venting thread that excludes sirdanilot

That other guy just quit today. My dad now has to do three fucking lawyers work of work with no pay increase, and they adamantly refuse to hire anyone new, because god forbid Geico's CEO have to only snort one kilo of coke instead of two off some fucking hooker cunt's back with the money he fucking...

Re: Venting thread that excludes sirdanilot

Perspective and social skills are as very much a part of human interaction as the right to express ourselves. What do rights have to do with anything? I don't think I've appealed to muh free expression. As much as I agree with you these feelings of not-caring are okay to voice, so do I agree that i...

Re: Venting thread that excludes sirdanilot

Theta: well, maybe civil rights are a subset of human rights? i think there's a case to be made here about that at a legal level... but when you say "human rights violation" you imagine some third world dictator using chlorine gas against some ethnic ghetto, not tax breaks and visitation rights, and...

Re: Venting thread that excludes sirdanilot

My current stance on same-sex marriage is: I really wish that it would all get sorted out and stop being an issue. I don't care what the outcome is, since it doesn't affect me in the slightest. I just want the discussions to go away, cos they're not interesting. If you care about human rights and s...

Re: Venting thread that excludes sirdanilot

It's not even a discussion... it's a struggle. you have the people who want it, pointing out that muh freedom and muh equality and muh justice, and you have the people who don't want it frothing at the mouth about muh book and muh god and muh nature. don't get me wrong, give 'em the marriage and the...

Re: The Official ZBB Quote Thread

If colonialism is dead, then when did it die, and why are there people alive today who use conlang forums and are interested in creating new colonies? I don't know that colonialism in the strict sense in which it's used anytime anyone says " if colonialism is dead " has anything to do with the more...

if there are places outside nyc where you'll be shot down for saying that the high divorce rate might not be a good thing, i don't know of them. how are medicine and condoms relevant? you don't know places where the consensus is not that high divorce rates are bad? that may be so... also the consen...

Re: Venting thread that excludes sirdanilot

On my side, my birth country is getting worse every single day that passes, and it pisses me off, knowing I'll be going into that. You need to put things into perspective because most levelheaded Americans find Canada to be a paradise, except the cold. But with reasonable politics, more than two pa...

Is it not terribly reactionary and all family traditional values muh jesus asdaogag to go "marriage is not good because divorce" ? Whoa... sweating just because AND all of the time? you're either a hell of a lot fatter than me, in a way too warm environment, too warmly attired or, more likely, what he said, hiperswetia or whatever. What is surprising is that Terrans could digest Almean food! Why? I mean, food is for the most part sugar, fat and protein, right ? and sugar is a trivial molecule which every plant on earth does, it's not terribly surprising that almean plants might use sugar and its various composites <fructose, ...
