Re: What are you playing?

In essence, KoA fails at show don't tell. it tells. and tells. and tells. I tried the demo a while back, and I already sensed that just by seeing the opening cinematic. I didn't retain much from it (and not in a good way), and all I recalled was some evil dark guy laughing evily and some demonic ho...

Re: What are you playing?

Is anybody playing Kingdoms of Amalur? What did you think about it and its conworlding? According to the reviews it seems to be an extremely solid - but not necessarily spectacular - game, although I'm getting Tolkien/D&D-clone vibes from it in terms of its conworlding, so probably nothing on par w...

Re: What are you playing?

I started Morrowind two days ago, and it was the most glorious thing I had ever done, even more so than Oblivion (I'm 1/3 way through the Shivering Isles right now). It's got to be one of awesomest things ever in terms of conworlding immersion. Bestest conworld lesson ever. I can't beleive I missed ...

I've done some stuff on the history, just a little bit.

That's my entire report.

Re: Istion - an Age of Sail Conworld.

soooo... do we want migration history to be reflected in phisical characteristics of people? like the nearer the center the blacker, the further from it the redder/browner, and some random dudes being white? I dunno... I wanted my guys to be a whole mix. But maybe that can be justified by having su...

My conlangs this year included your bland typical Euro-Japonic blend , as well as Irish with triconsonantal roots and an ancient Egyptian rip-off , sort of. I also started a thread on my conworld Arteran , but it's a coworld that's been in the making for several years; there's also a wiki for it tho...

Re: Istion - an Age of Sail Conworld.

Most of the groups in my conworld are either Asian or Caucasian, or, more commonly some combination thereof. Blame it on my 2nd generation Asian upbringing. ALthough there are African-esque, Native American-esque, Middle Eastern-esque, and other esques. maybe, I'm not sure about the migratory patter...

Re: Istion - an Age of Sail Conworld.

Personally I'm not sure if that will work... SINCE we don't know what the water levels have been like. I think we were saying how the water levels were much lower before to allow the evolution of "normal" animals and the actual migration of peoples to various places. Should we take that into account...

The wiki is just a record. It's not the actual place where you vote. You vote on the referedum thing from google docs... So did you vote on the actual referendum (I'm not talking about the wiki)? Because if you did you can't vote on it again. Not that it really matters, but we do need to have totali...

Re: Istion - an Age of Sail Conworld.

much before, in fact: the chinese used rockets long before anyone was shooting guns at people: why would they need guns, they had crossbows. And crossbows reload faster and are crazy more easy to manufacture, cheaper at least. on that count, the Viraayon didn't invent them, that much I know. I was ...
