Ideas:
Glottalisation/pharyngealisation of plosives followed by rhinoglottophilia.
C > /h/ > /h̃/
/h/ + vowel > /h/ + nasal vowel, followed by the transfer of nasalisation to the next consonant

Re: Using "disordered speech sounds" as phonemes in my conla

A human bidental percussive is only audible for me when I am very close to the person. Not really usable beyond something in pragmatics. I think the bidental fricative is usable.

Re: Nostratic, Eurasiatic, Mitian, ...

I wouldn't even be too sure about living organisms. Also, although it's never happened I think a conlang could hypothetically have become the main language of a people. I also think that "human languages" and universals pre-date the human-Neanderthal split.

Re: Sound Change Quickie Thread

You could have g > ɣ in all syllables instead.
Knit Tie wrote:divide the entire phonology into two sets of phonemes, one of which can only be founf in unstressed syllables and one in stressed ones, would that be too much?
Then they might be considered allophonic sets rather than two phonemic sets.

Re: deriving conlangs, generally

Cat's mouths are smaller, so they might be used to not that much sound distinction within a region of the mouth. Also, their lips seem to be less exaggerated than humans and therefore might be less useful for making sounds. Most sounds I have heard from cats seem to come from alveolar to palatal are...

East and South Africa was probably like that before the Bantu Expansion, with Sandawe and Hadza being notable examples.
