regger, from proto-Tarandic *renkrhr, itself probably a compound of uncertain meaning: *ren probably meant 'wood, forest', *krhr seems to be an onomatopeia.

An equivalent to 'ursine' would be reggers, 'bear-like'.

I always understood it that way: If the ktuvoks' mind control is anything like domesticating animals, it should work better if you start when the subject is young.
