Re: Pogostick Man's conworld megathread

I added some landmass to the planet in an effort to try to get the albedo down and thus keep the planet a bit warmer. This is a revised climate map.

It seems to have done so at least once. There's apparently an Oceanic language that did this (it's in the Bizzare sound changes thread, but I can't look it up right now as I have stuff to do before I go to work).

Re: Venting thread that embraces everyone without distinctio

I've just been walloped with a huge sense of failure/inadequacy. I was reading on reddit about someone who lacked social skills and wanted to talk to girls and it made me realize how when I've asked a girl out—either IRL or on online dating—it never pans out. IRL, girls just straight-up reject me. O...

Thanks, everyone. it was eventually discovered that we're six years apart (though I should note that both of us are legal adults) and the age difference is too great. Six years? That's nothing. I mean, yeah, if you're 16 you shouldn't date a 10yo, but once you're adults? Was she the younger or you? ...

Re: Pogostick Man's conworld megathread

The easiest option is that the Tim Ar take the writing system of another language and make their own distinctive version of it, like Fraktur in Germany or the Barakhinei alphabet . Even better is to make a distinctive version of an older version of a foreign orthography, such as how Germanic runes ...

Pretty scripty! Thank you! A potential daughter syllabary. In-universe this developed originally as a way to write the classical language (which was retained for use in official records) before being used for a daughter language. http://i.imgur.com/qG4HGHwh.jpg Codas are indicated by using a glyph ...
