I also noted the Kazakh version with interest--it's taken from a Russian-published Gospel edition of 1901, and the translation is distinctly different from a modern version (1994) that I own, as is the orthography used--it's a Cyrillic transcription that I've never seen before, with several differe...

The rotating syllabary is a very cool idea for a writing system. Speaking of writing systems, are there any other Native American writing systems in use (or used to be used) other than the Cree and Cherokee systems? Most languages were not written pre-1492. Cherokee, Blackfoot, Cree, Mohawk, Seneca...

Sometimes I wish I could redo Verdurian from scratch. Why don't you? You could have a few new word borrowings, e.t.c., and if you wanted to keep the old one, you could have them as two different dialects of Verdurian. Eh, it's not really worth the year or more it would take. What would you want to ...

In the languages I've created so far, we have base 10 (the Easterners), base 6 (Wede:i), base 18 (Methaiun), and base 12 (Elkar?l).
I just curious, what are the stories behind these other bases?

I believe he means a full language created. The Elkarîl grammar was already done a while before the script.

oh, pity, woulda been cool  You don't need to have a different number of fingers to have a different base system. For example, still using fingers (for Earth), you could have a base-5 (one hand), base-10 (two hands), base-12 (two hands plus the two feet), or base-20 (all fingers and toes)....

Do they also have 4 fingers? and in that case, do they use an octal (instead of decimal) system?
No, I think they have 5 fingers.

I was wondering, is Kebreni still your favortie language of your own? Or is it a new one. I remember from an old post, or it might actually be on VirtuVer, that you said Kebreni was your favorite of the languages so far. Has that changed? He said it in the Language Construction Kit: All you could w...

I think the uesti, too, for pretty much the same reasons Dudicon outlined.

If I had to choose a non-human species, I would say the ilii. They are knowedgable and have a long history (although I don't know a lot of it), and everything I don't know gives them a kind of "mysterious aura".

The thing is, restoring cultural diversity (especially in language) isn't something you could easily do after it's been lost. So maybe we should start valuing it now, while it can be preserved. I agree with you on your points, but it is possible for revival of a language after its loss (although, l...

Does that mean Kebri has a square-shaped flag and Verduria has a rectangular one? How are the other flags shaped then, like the Xurnese flag?

There are three letters on the Verdurian flag shown on the Virtual Verduria page (A.V.D., I think). What do these stand for?

Where did you see the flag of Kebri?
