I know the whole Anas thread has been officially quoted here, but for some reason I found myself laughing particularly hard at this little sentence: Maybe it is good that you visit one of your charming institutia that you have here, such as the psychedelist or the straitcoat. I just hope Ms. Osperpu...

A volcano that spews cold water. I've heard of ice volcanoes (on one of Jupiter's moons) but not water volcanoes. That's called a fountain. How many natural fountains have you heard of, aside from seaside blowholes? Well, there're geysers, aren't there, except they're hot water rather than c...

If Mark would be the only one to edit it, then it seems like a wiki would be kind of useless, since a wiki's major advantage is that anyone can edit it. Well, a simple database utility like a wiki would be convenient. I've often run into a similar problem on my site - I get lots of interesting idea...

You make it sound as if Zompist conlangs purely for our benefit ... I imagine (and I may be wrong) that the real reason he does it is because he gets some enjoyment out of it ... :) I'm sure he'll get around to it at some time, when he feels like it. Don't rush him though. He's only going to start m...

Re: Atmospheric Density
That's what I thought. And I was right, clearly.zompist wrote:I don't know why you'd picture it that way... It's similar to Earth's.Death of Ophelia wrote:I always pictured it to be a very thin atmosphere, somewhere in the vacinity of 45-48% the density of Earth's.
Other densities would only cause problems ...

If he wanted it to be as Indo-European as it is, he shouldn't have tried to pass it off as an "international language." He had covered most of Europe as well as most of the countries founded by people of European descent in other parts of the world- back then, in the opinion of most of the people i...

Otters are OK, but they're not really of interest to me. Animals which are are the badger (as with many people, it would seem - although my badger's been stolen) and the rabbit. The former is due to a crazed obsession of a friend of mine, the latter because I am a rabbit . Yes, you read that correct...

Bunny suits, hmm. As it so happens, I have a thing for rabbits. So much I've recently set up the International Federation of Rabbits. If you are a rabbit, if you think you are a rabbit, or if you would like to be a rabbit, this is the association for you. I'm thinking of drawing up a rabbit language...
