Re: CCC Naming languages - Thru SUN 3/23
Proto-Nggwoo Cwēli [çʷø˥ʟi˩] Proto-Nggwoo was the main language spoken by the Nggwoó around the year 4000 in Kwhukhu, based on the various descendents of this language. The language seems to have been known as Cwēli (the Tongue) to the Nggwoó, however this name in uncertain, and may have been a term...

I've been busy recently, so I'll probably just work on the Nggwoo and let the ice golems stagnate for awhile.

Yay, speed conworlding! About half of this was made while waiting for a pizza delivery... The T'ukwu [t'u.kwu] are a race of golems that live on the northern polar continent. They primarily live in the mountains, but have spread onto the icecap itself in recent times. History: It is unknown just how...

Re: CCC cultures - By Fri 2/28
Nydwracu was just temp-banned; that's over now. People can still create cultures after the deadline; they'll just arise after the year 2500. (No idea what happened in Year 1... that could be a perk of the vote winner to decide!) To be fair, not every culture submitted has made a major leap toward c...

The Nggwoó [ᵑgʷoː˩˥] are a Batti culture located in the northern parts of (insert name of Lyra's main continental mass here). The name nggwoó means people in Proto-Nggwoo, however there is no evidence that this name was used for themselves, due to the lack of writing in the culture. History: The Ngg...

When I made the climate map, I assumed that there's 1.5 extra squares at the top and bottom that aren't shown. That would reduce the pinching somewhat.

I want to make a semi-nomadic culture on the steppe and desert region in P5/6 and I'm just trying to work out the temperatures. It seems to be in the middle of the temperate zone, but it is right near the ocean. Can anyone tell me if the ocean would more likely be carrying warmer currents from the ...

Re: CCC cultures - By Mon 2/24
Why have such a dense atmosphere, though? Is it a natural consequence of having a bigger planet? Somewhat, though it could be reduced somewhat, say 1.2 atmospheres if the planet has 1.2 times the gravity, that way flight should be roughly as easy on Earth, and the other consequences of a denser atm...

Things will have to move around less, or sleep longer, or else eat a lot more food. Herbivores can't really do much on the eating more food front, so they'll tend ...

Well, aside from the various false friends, like gurl (boy, male) and liech (doctor)... False? English leech is an archaic word for 'physician'. I know that, but I've never heard of it used as such in modern English, and is the average person going to know that it used to mean that? Differing seman...

Re: CCC cultures - By Mon 2/24
Remember, all of the people here presumably evolved or were created here, so would be used to it. Also, a denser atmosphere won't impede movement noticeably, except at higher speeds, which will only really come into play after cars and planes and stuff are invented. As for combining the solar system...

Re: CCC cultures - By Mon 2/24
Finlay's planet #1 will almost certainly be tidally locked in some form, which means it can't rotate backwards. (Unless it goes around the star backwards...) Also, a less dense planet, even if it does have plenty of metals at the surface, will likely have a reduced magnetic field. My idea for the sy...

Re: CCC cultures - By Mon 2/24
We could also just have multiple people come up with ideas for the solar system and then vote on them, like what we're doing with everything else. Though in this case, only the winner's will get used, as combining multiple solar systems would just make a mess.
