Re: The glebst of Gleb

That doesn't actually seem unreasonable to me—just a prenasalized /g͡b/. (Or am I off my rocker?) No, it's a prenasalized voiced labial-velar stop and it exists plenty. It is now the homework of everyone in this thread to git on PHOIBLE until they stop being easily excited about perfectly normal se...

So wait, are people trying to be mean or are they unwittingly so? Because those are kind of mutually exclusive.

Re: Creativity of the day

Really, Jatbunese doesn't use numbers for the months? Weird. Good job on those though; they look very real! Thanks. The country is actually called Yabushio, and the language is Yabushionese. Jatbun = 日本 (if you didn't catch that) The country uses international years instead of the era-based years n...

Re: The glebst of Gleb

The more scientifically correct term for what is usually called a "retroflex sibilant". (Are there even any languages with proper subapical retroflexes that have a sibilant at that POA?) Toda appears to have laminal /t̻ʃ d̻ʒ ʃ ʒ/. I can't find any other examples on Wikipedia. Newt, I think you've g...

Re: Glossing help

I am writing my sample texts for my language in Microsoft Word. Here is your fundamental error. Does TeX (or some extension) have support for glossing? I am very sure that there are packages out there to help with this, and even if not writing it yourself is still gonna be less of a pain in the but...

Re: The glebst of Gleb

I can't work out how to load a particular seed. Run it from the command line with -r <seed>. Tried downloading it and it wouldn't work from the command line. Do I have to download the whole folder or something? You have to download the "phonology" folder, the script depends on the .yml files in there
