Re: Conlingual Telephone
finished glossing. translating now. haven't got a clue as to what some of the grammatical terms are so this'll be fun.

Nortaneous, we're 6 days over, so are you still working on it, or has Mr. Z failed to update the first post?

Re: Conlingual Telephone
Well, we'll see when I get to deciphering it, which is probably around 12 hours from now. At first glance, it looks a lot more complex than the text I had to translate from in the last Conlang-L Relay...

This was fun! I've just sent on my Tmaśareʔ text to Trailsend for translation into Feayran.

Received!
Re: Conlingual Telephone
A note: I will be out of town sometime until around the second week of August. But it's likely someone will delay things past then anyways, at the rate we've been going...

Yep! Almost done. Torch should be passed tonight or tomorrow.

Hooray! Is it like really long or something?

Re: Conlingual Telephone
I'd be happy to try participating in this again, since I'm very definitely prepared to handle the text now. If you'll have me.
Re: Conlingual Telephone
PM trailsend, if he can't complete it then go ahead. If he doesn't reply soon we'll assume he's MIA and then you can go ahead.
Re: Conlingual Telephone
Hopefully this gets to me soon. After I get back to uni, I likely won't have much time.

He received my PM but hasn't replied to it. What do now?Zoris wrote:PM trailsend, if he can't complete it then go ahead. If he doesn't reply soon we'll assume he's MIA and then you can go ahead.
Re: Conlingual Telephone
I mean, I'm not in charge, but by now I think it's safe to just go ahead...
Re: Conlingual Telephone
Sorry I didn't do anything about it; I was abroad myself. Anyway, I skipped Trailsend, and now it's finlay's turn.

Re: Conlingual Telephone
OK; but I should warn you that I'm going away for various things this weekend and it's quite likely I won't be able to get to it straight away. But I'll do my best. Harass me if I've not done it in a week's time. Sorry.
Re: Conlingual Telephone
So long as it gets to me by about Sept 8th. I'm moving out shortly after that, and will be quite busy.
Re: Conlingual Telephone
I will have to drop out, sadly.

Re: Conlingual Telephone
Well, I think now it's becoming apparent why I suggested we have two or three teams of 3-4 people instead of a single large team. People don't have to wait as long, more gets done, we could shuffle people around if anyone drops out...
So yeah finlay just send your stuff to me when you're done I guess.

Re: Conlingual Telephone
OK, I've done the translation. But I'm going to have to leave it to tomorrow to prepare a workable grammar file (I could send the entire thing if you want, but a) it'd probably be better to streamline to some extent and b) I'd still need to prepare a lexicon for it... and c) you'd probably hate me because it's a disorganised jumble of notes – however, if you are up for the challenge of rifling through another conlanger's notes I could just do that...). Sorry it's taken so long, but this was a really bad week for me to be given this; I've been quite busy what with having friends up to visit and then going to visit friends at their wedding and then getting up to work at 9 in the morning and then having another friend up to visit. If I'd been given it two months ago I'd probably have done it much quicker.
