Questions or discussions about Almea or Verduria-- also the Incatena. Also good for postings in Almean languages.

Sorry, I just wanted to show my interest in his project, and if he had any news regarging when he expect it to be finished, he could post it.
I'm not being inpatient, I know how long such things can take to get ready.

I should have asked in a different way, sorry!

'Tis alright. I think there are some of us who've been waiting for the Xurnese languages for over 3 years, so it hasn't really been that long for Flaidish.

At least it's all worth the waiting, Zomp is making such a great job giving inspiration to all conlangers!

I do appreciate the expressions of interest. I think the last time I gave an estimated completion date for something, it was a year off. So I prefer to just wait till it's done.

On the plus side, I finished translating the Flaidish example, which is usually the hardest part. It's turned into quite an eccentric little language.

Hey, I just noticed the proto-Eastern page has been updated. Looks like some of the digraphs were taken cared of, and a gamma was even added! When did this update happen and what all did it entail?

Changes are always in the change log... all these things fall under "conversion to Unicode".

From my point of view, it's not so much a change as a better approximation to what I already have in my own documents, which use the Maraille font.

Ah, well I guess that explains it-- I didn't even know there was a change log.

By the way, why do you use the Maraille font?

Because he started out with a Mac, and then they didn't have the extra characters he needed, so he had to make a font for them. Note that he says that he was probably crazy.

Hey, actually, that's not a bad idea: good for homogenizing scripts. On that note, Zomp, can I request to borrow the Maraille font for conlanging use? It just seems so useful!

Sure, go ahead. My one regret is that it doesn't have an epsilon. Unfortunately it's a hassle to re-do.

Many, many thanks! It includes so many of the symbols used in my conlanging, including ones which I never have seen in any Roman font, such as those for /N/ and /O/, as well as such notables as /?/ and /l_G/, and a number of language-customizable characters.

I've been using Maraille for a few months to handle Noyatukah's pitch diacritics; it's great. Marialle is the only font I know with a stand-alone hachek and dot above. It's defiinitely the most linguist-friendly font out there.

Ever try to put a dot over an ?? Or get a hachek over a vowel?

Latin font, no; but the only other font with a haček are the IPA fonts, and they don't have capitals. I don't use it, but that's only because I like the look of TNR.

A year and a quarter on, I really must revoice the old question:

What's next?

Who knows? However, I can answer the question "what have I been working on?" And that would be:

-- a full description of Meshaism (the religion of ancient Axunai, and the parent of Endaju?)
-- the grammar of Axunashin
-- a grammar of Old Skourene

Heh, kinda. People have been asking for the Axunashin grammar for years; it's something of a fixture in the universe of discourse.

For my part, I'm most curious about the Skourenes. They, curiously enough, have been the Almean culture that calls out to me the loudest.

What about Flaidish? Does it have a fairly comprehensive grammar yet?
