Almean Art

Questions or discussions about Almea or Verduria-- also the Incatena. Also good for postings in Almean languages.

Almean Art

Post by brandrinn »

Almea has everything it needs to make it real, to make it come alive- languages, history, famous personalities... the only thing it lacks is visuals. Mark does pretty well, bless his heart (it's better than i could do), but what we need is really high-quality stuff, like paintings or something. the kind of stuff that would be good enough to grace a book cover (just to give an example). I know we have some good artists here, and many of you could probably recommend a good artist who is cheap. i'd gladly put up a few clams to see professionally rendered scenes from the Eschambra (sp?) or a Kebri trading colony or a Xurnese palace.

first off, who here can draw? volunteer for the Almean Art Project! (we'll need Mark's permission for this, of course).

I appreciate your enthusiasm, brand, but I need to keep Almea in my own hands for now. The professional artists will have to come after the book sales, not before. :)

Mark, if an artist offered to do some paintings and stuff of Almea, would you (presuming you had time) work with them and create something beautiful together?
The man of science is perceiving and endowed with vision whereas he who is ignorant and neglectful of this development is blind. The investigating mind is attentive, alive; the mind callous and indifferent is deaf and dead. - 'Abdu'l-Bahá

I could provide some artwork, if you wish.

Hmm, I was going to embark on a whole analysis of created worlds as seen by the creators and the fans here, but I think that will take too long.

Let me just emphasize that I have very high standards, and a personal vision for how I want Almea to develop. Because of that, there really wouldn't be any point in collaborating with someone who isn't a rather better artist than I am.

But then, the rather better artists generally have visions of their own to pursue-- and, for that matter, paying clients.

On the other hand, if you can get Moebius interested, give me a call. :)
