That's an excellent question - I've wondered about this too, but, as I've discovered, con-astrology can be an intricate business.
We do know about soa shapa, soa fralina, so mesocrico, etc, but not much else.
Oops - should they even have articles in front of them, or not?

There would be no distinction in any Almean culture between astrology and religion... that is, systems of divination or character analysis are part of living belief systems, not half-dead survivals from earlier cultures.
So, though I haven't worked out the Almean constellations or divination based on them, in the Plain the characters and principles involved would be those of Cadhinorian and Cuzeian religion.
Sorry if that's too vague... I'm trying to wrap up my sketch of Meshaism.

Squee! You mean for Almean Belief Systems?zompist wrote: Sorry if that's too vague... I'm trying to wrap up my sketch of Meshaism.
Well I don't want to pester you then, and of course I'll probably get to see it eventually, but you have piqued me curiousity
So, I just have one simple question: what kind of god is Me?a? The Wede:i grammar seemed to indicate he/she had some sort of association with the planet I?ira.

Axunashin name = Mesha
Wede:i name = Wila:r
gender = male
totemic animal = hawk
element = air
landmark = planet Ishira
The Ezichimi considered Mesha to be the 'god of the Wede:i'-- which was a gross simplification-- and to have been defeated by their own god Inbamu. Mesha in a sense had the last laugh; over the centuries his worship was the more popular, and he was the patron god of Axunai.

It's one of those words that seem to eke out an existence solely on the web. As I understand it, it's a nerdish exclamation of joy.
I have no idea where it came from, but I'd like to think it has something to do with the comic of the same name, by Jhonen Vasquez.

I wonder if the popularity of such a hymn is what gave the Endajue masters their ideas about the Universal Dance.

Squeeing is also what dolphins do when they're happy. At least, that's the term used in McCaffrey's Pern series, which is what I thought of when I saw the word.So Haleza Grise wrote:Well, I type it occasionally. I hardly ever say it.Shm Jay wrote:Squee? as though her heart was brook: Why, why, why! Weh, O weh
I'se so silly to be flowing but I no canna stay!

Well even the Middle Ages, Astronomy was mixed with Astrology almost like a religion...
Just ask Galieo...
For Verdurians, Not sure, what is the technology level, and the "renaissance", how far is it away?, has it started?, what about glass techology
what about optics?
lenses.... without lenses, then telescopes?.. forget it...
So it all depends...
