If & When Almea Ends...

Almea's quite the accomplishment, and of course is also an ongoing project. However, is this all you want to do? Just Almea?
Not that Almea's not enough or anything, because it's quite the huge project, but I was just wondering if you've ever had, or ever thought about having another project if you stop working on Almea.

I have a feeling that the only thing that'll make Mark stop is if his heart does too. Though don't get it wrong, Mark does have other projects than Almea. He has time to time made mention of a sci-fi project, but lord knows we'll never see any of that.

It won't end; at least, it won't ever be finished. Things like this can't be. There's always something more to do.

Cool! Can I write that? It would be awesome, the Terps and their bioships, an ancient prophesy, maybe even a battle between the Almean gods and the Terps or Aspril.

I'm quite sure you can't.

I wasn't saying that it would "end" end, I was saying whenever Mark abandons Almea if and when he does of course.

go to Virtual Verduria and read the internal history of Verduria: Mark's been working on it for many years. it seems to me like a more or less permanent project.

Well, as far as I have followed the developpment ever since I discovered Almea (like, 4-5 years ago), it never has seem to end. In fact, there could always be some details to show about it. Until now, we haven't (almost) read about Arc?l, but it's the other half of "civilised" Almea. And there is plenty about Erel?e.
And about abandonning it? It would be quite difficult. A project that comes from such a time (college) is unlikely to disappear or to be forgotten, especially since it was so well developped. And by well, I also mean quality. We can think whatever we may about Almea, we can only see it : it's a great work. (Feel I read such sentence somewhere... Oh well.) And, sometimes, maybe, zompist may have enough, take a break, and go on after. When you like a project, that doesn't mean you ALWAYS have to work on it. You take your time and your pace, and you work on it along. In the end, you achieve your masterpiece, and, along the way, you learned (by taking your time studying) and lived (by taking your time living...).
