Only two? I thought Verduria was supposed to be 17th-centuryish. Or are Verdurians ahead of Earth contemporaries on the path to radio and television tech?

Radio was discovered in the 1890s. Two centuries before that was 1690.

There's no real way to say where they are in terms of our cultural evolution. Who says technology has to progress in the same way on a diffeent world as it has on Earth?
