I've noticed a few references to "the upcoming Biology of Almea", and I'm just wondering--upcoming how fast? I don't wish to be pushy; a ballbark "on a couple of months" or whatever is all I'm really looking for.

Within a couple of decades, for sure. (I've learned not to promise more closely than that.)
Those references are to an ongoing project to describe the major crops and food animals in each of Almea's human communities. I have names for them all, and pictures and descriptions for many of them. It really requires more research, however. (It's easy to come up with, say, a name for 'flax'; harder to come up with a description of an extraterrestrial analogue to it.)

Well, for plants and animals that produce fiber (and dyestuff, for that matter), I'd be happy to help you out with that. I know a bit about it, though I'm not an expert by any means.
