Advertising in Verduria

Questions or discussions about Almea or Verduria-- also the Incatena. Also good for postings in Almean languages.

Advertising in Verduria

Post by hwhatting »

I saw the Corona ad - nice artwork!
Now, do they have a dealer on Oikoumene? Or pubs they deliver to?

Is it meant to be a contemporary ad (i.e. 35th century Z.E.) or from a 21st-century-like future? The esthetics of the ad look so modern to me - big picture, little text.
If it's 35th century, where would you find such ads? Billboards? Are there any illustrated magazines that would feature colour ads?
Best regards,

Hans-Werner

I had some of the same thoughts as Hans-Werner -- in addition to the fact that the model looks an awful lot like a certain perky depiction of Death...

It's not 35th century-- the Verdurians don't have color printing. Or CGI. :) It can be taken as an anachronism from the Almean future.

The bottle looks a little clumsy, but it's actually a 3-D object.

OK, that gives it some perspective.
But you still didn't answer the dealer question - I want my Corona!

Well, presumably it wouldn't take too much in they way of photoshop filters to make it look more like a contemporary Verdurian ad.

Heh, yes I do. She's quite nice. However, you can only date her if you can find her in Second Life, which is where the picture was taken.

Why does it not surprise me that Zomp is a Second-Lifer?

Zomp: Do you have any more ads like this? I would love to see them if you do. I love the Verdurian script. And I love seeing it used like this!
